I just received my text that my plan will be going up $5 per line. I checked in my T-Mobile plan options and the new price is already there.

If your are a resident of Texas, T-Mobile cannot raise your rates until April 1st, 2025: https://www.texasattorneygeneral....int-merger

If you get this price hike notification and are a Texan, please file a complaint with the state attorney general's office and an informal FCC complaint citing the settlement between the state of Texas and the merged/new T-Mobile.

There are several other states that also negotiated 5 years of no price increases through various attorney generals and PUCs. However, most states were spineless and only got the 3 year protection agreed to by T-Mobile, Sprint, the FCC, the courts, and the US attorney general on April 1st, 2020... enabling the merger with laughable divestures claiming a 4th new carrier would appear out of thin air.

Yep, got the text about getting the $5/line raise on my ONE Plus plan. That's an extra $20/month. Specifically got that plan back in 2017 because they said they wouldn't raise prices.

Looking into alternatives now, Google Fi most likely

I'm on T-mobile TI Unlimited Kickstart plan, 3 lines+free line. No text yet, no changes online. I swapped from the Sprint Kickstart v1 before they merged the Sprint plans into the Tmobile systemsbecause that didn't include fees and taxes and had a feeling they would eventually increase fees.

i have 10 lines (one free line) and free digits (watch/tablet line) with 20% off entire account. I pay about 200 dollars after kickbacks. This also includes netflix premium. 45 dollar increase and with 20% off its 36 bucks a month extra... so now its 24 dollars a line give or take... Damn i fking hate telecom companies.

I just dont know how im going able to switch to other carriers thats comparable for the same price Mad

Yup! Got a text from T-Mobile today letting me know my plan will increase $5 per line. I originally read it as just a $5 increase on total bill but looked at it again after reading your post and indeed it's $5/line.

I'm assuming free lines done get the $5 increase. Might look at Xfinity mobile now, but not sure it will be better because of the free line with T-Mobile.

Xfinity Mobile is kinda a nightmare though too - they do everything they can to get your devices to connect to WiFi hotspots automatically, and if you ever get a better ISP at home (ie fiber) then you get hit with heavy fees if you don't cancel Mobile too.

Where did it state the price lock guarantee? Thanks
Check out /r/tmobile. People are linking and archiving the press releases for those plans where they said the price wouldn't change.

Look into MVNOs like US Mobile. Lot cheaper.
MVNOs are great for some but most of them will deprioritize your data during "congestion" and if you're in a big enough city that's basically always.

Maybe they'll have another data breach for the older plans, too.

I don't mind them raising prices, their cost is going up and we need them since they are providing a service to the community

People love to complain the price is going up but how about getting a job to pay for your expenses

Do you live under a rock? People are struggling while being full time employed. "Inflation" has outpaced earnings significantly.

Yep I got the text as well. $5 extra per line and I specifically remember signing up on the one plan for 55 and older when they said they're guaranteed never to raise our prices. So much for that. All I can say is does anyone have the number for John ledger?

I have 11 lines on magenta max first responder business and t-force said it will go up by $80 and phone support said mine will not go up. Kinda confusing but we will close at least a few lines.
