I just received my text that my plan will be going up $5 per line. I checked in my T-Mobile plan options and the new price is already there.

If your are a resident of Texas, T-Mobile cannot raise your rates until April 1st, 2025: https://www.texasattorneygeneral....int-merger

If you get this price hike notification and are a Texan, please file a complaint with the state attorney general's office and an informal FCC complaint citing the settlement between the state of Texas and the merged/new T-Mobile.

There are several other states that also negotiated 5 years of no price increases through various attorney generals and PUCs. However, most states were spineless and only got the 3 year protection agreed to by T-Mobile, Sprint, the FCC, the courts, and the US attorney general on April 1st, 2020... enabling the merger with laughable divestures claiming a 4th new carrier would appear out of thin air.

I don't mind them raising prices, their cost is going up and we need them since they are providing a service to the community

People love to complain the price is going up but how about getting a job to pay for your expenses
What inflation? Their operating expenses have been dropping for the last few years.

Yep, got the text about getting the $5/line raise on my ONE Plus plan. That's an extra $20/month. Specifically got that plan back in 2017 because they said they wouldn't raise prices.

Looking into alternatives now, Google Fi most likely

I'm also a 2017, One Plus Promo guy and only got a text about my watch line going up $2/month and they confirmed if my phones were it would have been in that text. She looked closer and confirmed it's only my watch. I'm in Utah if that matters.

See 2017 press release for One Plan ( https://www.t-mobile.com/news/pre...rrier-next ), specifically the Un-contract paragraph, which states:

Today, T-Mobile introduced the Un-contract for T-Mobile ONE – and notched another industry first with the first-ever price guarantee on an unlimited 4G LTE plan. With the Un-contract, T-Mobile signs, and customers hold all the power. Now, T-Mobile ONE customers keep their price until THEY decide to change it. T-Mobile will never change the price you pay for your T-Mobile ONE plan. When you sign up for T-Mobile ONE, only YOU have the power to change the price you pay.

Of course a press release (for 4G LTE) is not a contract, but now we know what the Un-contract means and what it means when T-Mobile "signs" it.

It's for 4G LTE . Did you switch to 5 G SIM card a year ago

Tmobile is a joke they have officially taken a new low here. There pillars and culture is gone they don't give a chit about customers anymore. The ship has sailed and the John ledger days are over and never coming back. Grandfathered in plans are gone. I want to leave them so bad.

Been looking for a reason to jump ship and this is it. I've had T-mobile for a couple decades now.

MVNOs are great for some but most of them will deprioritize your data during "congestion" and if you're in a big enough city that's basically always.

US Mobile provides priority data. You don't get deprioritized. Some others do however as you stated.

So my coworker got a text message saying his SCNA 10GB Family Match Promo plan will increase $2 per line. I have the same plan but haven't received a text yet. I'm guessing they will be sending out texts over several days.

It's worse. It's a monopoly like every other company in the US. No one complaining and dumb people voting against their own interests = the true shithole country that is the US at the moment.

The US has become unlivable - unless you consider working without a life or reward 'living'.

No text yet on the increase and also no data breach settlement checks. C'mon TMO, you have yet to cough up a penny for the data breach-es and now this? The UNCOOL carrier I tell ya.

Can you share more details on how to do this?

I guess I can live with that if they start allowing legacy plans to get phone deals too, which sucks since we've been excluded on 99% of phone deals unless we're on the latest plans.
When I login to my account and select the "Switch Plans" link, it says "Upgrade-ready
Not available" still under my current ONE Plan, so that doesn't seem to be the case.
