Cheaper at Sams club if you have membership 100 tabs for $19.99 (0.20 per tab)
I don't get the tabs. It's still $0.21 a load. Powder is like a third of that and you can sprinkle some in the tub pre-wash.

I bought this on 07/01/2023 for $3.09 + tax = $3.31. Good times... can't expect that to happen again.

If you completely fill the wash tub and the prewash with powder you are probably using at least 2-3 ounces of powder per load. Cascade is about 10 cents an ounce so I think it's not as cheap as people make it. At least with pods you know exactly the cost per load. And all of the R&D is going to pods, not powder for the past 10 years. I know tests have shown powder is still a little better but the gap is closing.

I use powder products for dishwashers and washing machines because they don't leave residue like liquid and gel products. Every time I use liquid and gel products I start noticing mold rings and slime accumulation along edges. Then manufacturers want to sell products designed to clean that gunk that is avoidable in the first place.

Tab don't allow for a proper prewash and honestly all a tab is, is compacted powder or high concentrated liquid. The R&D is for lining their own pockets. I use great value powder and have equal results to Finish or Cascade. I don't pre rinse I just scrape food of plates and throw them in.

Think he meant 100 tabs (that's what they sell online) which makes this only better if you do not have the Sam's membership.

This one is "Infinity Shine".

I've got the same subscription as you, the 82ct quantum work great for me at a lower cost.

Tabs are for sure more profitable especially the expensive ones, my contention is just that people who promote powder over tabs always bring up the prewash argument which means they are filling the prewash section of their dishwasher which in turn means they are using a total of around 3 ounces of powder per wash. So that makes it comparable to the cost per load of a tab. You can't do the math of ($$ per box of powder / loads of dishes stated on the box) to arrive at cost per wash because that's usually based on 1 ounce per load. I've tried gels and powders in the past year and honestly it made no difference for my use case and I don't even use fancy pods, I usually use Member's Mark which I think are the cheapest around. So I ended up sticking with pods. The R&D to create pods was for lining their pockets I agree but at this point they are actually improving them and not improving powders and gels. So at least for me, it makes no difference that I miss out on prewash detergent, they have improved pods enough that it doesn't matter and it costs the same per load anyway.
