No it would not work with a Dewalt battery. If you search the internet people make adapters to swap brand name battery's on other brand tools but it's not recommended. I believe Dewalt makes a similar inverter.
Used to be $25 a few years back and it has come down to $12:50-16.00.

But it sure is nice to power Ryobi 18v accessories with a 20v DeWalt battery.
A bigger battery/inverter setup like all the Ecoflow/Anker units you see here would be much more suitable for running a TV or projector for hours at a time. These M18 top off units are better for running stuff like LED lighting, fan, radio, or charging phones/devices.
I've had one of these for awhile now. It will not run a larger tv nor will it run a coffee maker. It will run my coffee grinder though. Ha ha. it's good for small items. Will do a laptop. Overall I did not see it a a very beneficial purchase. Probably better off getting one of the smaller m18 lanterns that have a usb output.
Also not worried about bricking the battery as the most its used for is charging a cell phone or bluetooth speaker. And inflating an air mattress.
