I've used one of these before. It's a premium feeling laptop. It can output video over the USB-C port. You'll probably want to buy the surface dock.

The CPU is noticeably showing its age by now.

The processor is a bit old, but it's fine for most things. Yes it's 4ish generations old (and 2 of those generations were large improvements), but it's also an i7 which helps to bridge the gap.

This isn't the processor for gaming or coding. However this is a great processor/laptop for productivity (word, excel, YouTube, Netflix).

The biggest worry isn't the specs, which would be fine for general office and web use, it's the quality of Woot's refurbs. I've heard some horror stories.

It is true experience. Windows 11 was specifically optimized for 12th Gen onwards while leaving behind 11th Gen and older Intel to the dust. Intel optimized 12th Gen processors and onwards for the new Scheduler in Windows 11. None of the older processors got that.

I have Acer Spin 5 with i7-1260P/16GB and Win 11 on it still feels slower to me compared to Win 10 on Huawei Matebook D (R2500U/8GB) and Dell Precision 7560 (11th Gen i7/64GB)

Now, CoPilot+ branding is leaving behind everything that has been launched till this date.

My two cents

I bought a similar Woot deal four months ago ($280 for the same generation surface laptop with an i5 and only 8gb of memory running Win11).

The unit I got was grade B all black. It had a few small knicks to the black finish that a sharpie easily took care of. Even with only 8 gigs of memory, it's completely capable as my quick-grab/light duty machine. My wife has a Macbook Air that's a similar age and they're very comperable machines.

biggest problem for used old laptop is the battery most of battery is shot and u will end up needing to plug this into a wall at all time or have to buy new battery. how do i know ? i brought a certified used dell lappt with the 50 percent off code.. i ended with a wall laptop lol..

I am still using a laptop from 2011 (x220) ...this will be great for casual use,browsing,videos,etc. for more demanding things of course adjust expectations accordingly but seems like a great deal.

if you purchased via Dell refurb, in the slickdeals comments it tells you how to test the battery once you receive your machine and determine the life of the battery. If it is below a certain point, you can ask for a replacement. The process was not that hard.
