Speak for yourself. We use ours almost daily with customized blends catering to each family member's taste. Can't do that in your KitchenAid, can ya? Also, the number of servings is only limited by the number of frozen cups in your freezer. The number of servings in your stand mixer is contingent upon the bowl remaining frozen.

Of course, it all depends on where you live. When you live in the cold north, it's probably not worth the buy. In the Deep South were temps have been in the mid 90s with high humidity, ice cream is a welcomed cool down treat when being outside for part of the day.
To pile on here. You can easily re-cream ice cream/frozen treat from a previous batch. With traditional ice cream makers your leftovers end up like an inedible brick in the freezer which aren't easily made edible again.

What's so magical about $99? Was that some unicorn deal that came and went?
If $99 wasn't magical in terms of marketing then products would often be sold for $100. But alas, people are weirdly hung up on that third digit.

It's objectively weird honestly. Is it really worth it waiting and checking over and over again to save $11? It may go up in price too. Then you're SOL. You could have been eating ice cream this whole time, but you absolutely had to save $11.

Watched a couple of videos, seems like the Deluxe version through Costco would be best. Anyone know if it's available in store for $180? It'd be nice to skip $10 shipping

You can check the Costco same-day to see if it's in stock at your local warehouse:

https://60beanskitchen.com/ninja-nc501-vs-nc301/

The regular NC301 has 16 oz containers. The Delux NC501 has 20 oz containers.

The regular NC301 7 programs. The Delux NC501 has 11 programs

The regular NC301 7 makes ice cream, sorbet, gelato, milkshake, smoothie bowl, lite ice cream, and mix-in. The Delux NC501 lists the previous and additional "slush, Italian ice, frozen drink, creamiccino, frozen yogurt and more"
The Deluxe has 24oz containers not 20oz. Also, the Deluxe does not have Smoothie Bowl mode (though I've seen comments that suggest Smoothie Bowl and Lite Ice Cream are actually identical modes anyway)

Got one for Christmas. Have used it 3 or so times to make batches with the kids. Very good and easy to use.

The Kohl's deal is still live. It ends today. Now I'm debating on the Deluxe from Costco vs Kohl's, mostly due to the ease of returning to Costco if there's an issue

I purchased a Cuisinart and very happy with it. I just made a batch of keto chocolate and added a teaspoon of vodka so that it wouldn't harden…and it worked! I also used heavy cream v. almond milk the first time and I will only use cream from now on. I bought it last year on sale because it was fraction of the cost for the few times I will use it.

i feel like if you have a kitchenaid stand mixture, you can get their ice cream accessory rather than separate product. It is not like you are making ice cream every week or day.
Not a good comparison. While you CAN make Ice Cream with the Creami, one of the very common uses is making a super simple, quick 'sorbet' type of dessert. Freeze canned fruits with natural juice and mix it on the Creami when frozen. Might have to 'spin' an extra time, depending on the fruit chosen, but in just a couple of minutes you have a convenient frozen treat. Try that with a stand mixer and attachment. The Creami, of course, does more than just that, but it's an example of why the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer + attachment isn't at all the same thing.

I've used mine everyday for the last year. I make a casein protein concoction that I eat right before bed. It was the best money I've ever spent on a small kitchen appliance. If didn't already have one I'd jump on this in a heartbeat.

Do be careful with this deal. Even though it's NC300 it has less function than Amazon NC299AMZ and claims the original retail price is $199

Almost jump in on it then read the thread and found Kohl's has a better deal going on. You can get the NC301 model for ~$122 or the NC501 model for $150-$157
