Available for in-store pickup at RC Wiley but I just successfully price matched at Best Buy on my first attempt with the online live-chat.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/arca...Id=6515485

STEP BY STEP
I shared the RC Wiley link, added MVC2 to my Best Buy cart and shared the SKU (6515485) with the agent.

They asked me to confirm my Zip Code and I provided one that has an RC Wiley nearby (84115 SLC, UT) then they approved the price match by sending me a unique invoice link to complete the purchase. Free shipping included.

damn, for MvC2 that's a good price. So does OP actually live in Utah, or what? I'm on the east coast and I would buy this if I could
Do not live in Utah, just used that zip code because there was an RC Wiley in that area. Best Buy shipped my order to another state that does not have an RC Wiley

These things show up at auction all the time if you're patient. I suspect this one will go for less than $800 in SoCal in a week.

That's...literally not Marvel vs Capcom 2. It's not even Marvel vs Capcom 1.

But hey, let's pretend that it was MVC2. And let's assume that it ends up selling for under $680 (the auction house adds an 18% buyers premium, so it needs to sell for under $680 for the total price to remain under $800). That does a fat load of good for anybody who doesn't just so happen to live in Anaheim California, and have access to a pickup truck, and is willing to spend a few hours on a Friday or Saturday afternoon to go to an auction, because the sale is for the machine as-is and where it stands in their warehouse, and they require it to be removed from their premises within 5 days or else they'll consider it abandoned.

For the 99.9% of us who don't live within convenient driving distance of auction houses that specialize in cheap arcade machines and would have to have an auction winning shipped, you can set aside hundreds more to get it freighted, but that's a moot point, because if you're buying decades-old as-is arcade machines in online auctions without being able to inspect them in person first, you're a fool who's probably signing yourself up for a big money pit.

Do I really need to explain why some people might prefer simply clicking a button on BestBuy.com and having a box show up at their front door two days later that contains a lightweight, brand new, flat-packed miniature replica that doesn't weigh 300 pounds, take up as much room as a refrigerator, and hasn't been getting beaten to death by thousands of people for the last 25 years?

The whole "just buy original machines, they're not much more expensive than A1Us" thing is so delusionally out of touch. A1U machines sell by the thousands and thousands. No, the tiny quantities of vintage original machines that occasionally go for great prices at local in-person auctions are not a replacement supply for the readily-available A1U versions that anyone can buy and have delivered to their house with free shipping within 2 days. These things are not equivalent. We all know this. Get real.

Personally for the money I would buy an Atgames legends gamer pro ($199) and a stand for it ($99). Either run CoinOpsX from USB or connect a PC ( or android box if ya want) and play thousands of retro games on a much larger TV screen. I have a Arcade1UP.......disassembled and boxed up in my garage. The controls are inferior, the monitor is small, the play angle of the monitor I find uncomfortable unless i take the riser off and play from a sitting position and I am average height. And you can play Centipede, Arknoid, and marble madness with the trackball which is a plus if you like those games. Buy Stuff Arcades has a mount for the stand they sell that you can connect a steering wheel or Star Wars Yoke to also if that is something you are into. IMO A1UP products are fine for a kids room or maybe if you have a garage or basement bar area set up and you just want the ambiance of a couple arcades in there but for playing there are better options. There are better options that the one above too but I tried to stick to a comparable price point!

I replaced my Arcade1UP controls the first week I had it with Ultimarc joysticks and buttons. I still have those Ultimarc Joysticks and buttons but I haven't felt the need to swap out the joysticks on my Atgames so that itself says something about their quality. Sue the Ultimarc would be "better" but the Atgames controls are good enough that I didn't feel the time was worth it to even bother!

No need to get so upset. Buy whatever you want. I was just showing people a place they can find real arcade cabinets if they want. Old cabinets aren't for impatient people with no technical skills to begin with.
You were directly (if perhaps unknowingly) propping up someone else's argument that anyone considering A1U machines has a practical and readily-accessible option to instead buy vintage original machines of the same games for comparable prices. Again, we all know the originals are out there, but they are not readily accessible alternatives for the vast majority of people who want one, and they only only exist in specific finite quantities that will only continue to dwindle.

I say all this as someone who used to collect vintage machines, but has since parted with all buy one of my original machines. I now just have a handful of A1U machines, which do a fine job of scratching the occasional itch and reminding me of the glory days.

Thank you!! The best part about arcade1up cabs for me is that they are lightweight easily movable and don't use much power. Getting a full size MVC cab into my basement would be a nightmare and wouldn't leave much room for additional ones.

that game sucks. MVC2 is god tier, marvel super heroes.... meh, maybe a 4/10. they were still trying to figure the game out. if you can switch the board out maybe it'll be a good deal, but i dont know anyone with cheap MVC2 boards around. you're like that meme... "mom can we get mvc2?" "we have mvc2 at home.."

Glad I bought a Marvel cab back when it was $150 on sale. RPi4 install was crazy easy and modded the thing for about $140 all said and done. It plays MvC2 well enough but I am looking forward to the day we get better emulation and rPi's. Still tempted by this just for a dedicated cab but no room to justify it.

Slick deal if you can get a match tho!

That's exactly what they mean, yes.

Citation needed. Please, link me to where we can buy an original MVC2 cab for ~$800. And remember, that needs to include delivery for it to be a fair comparison. And if you're so sure the market is flush with the "real things" for just $200 more than A1U's versions, please also link me somewhere I can buy original cabinets of TMNT, NBA Jam, Tron, Dragon's Lair, Atari Star Wars, Terminator 2, and/or Killer Instinct, for well under $1000 each, delivered. Should be easy, yeah? I'll wait.
I have a couple of these original cabinets and I wouldn't even think of selling them. But if I did, they are nothing less than a few grand easy.

How hard would it be to replace the computer or whatever with a Raspberry Pi in order to play more than 1 game?
