The audacity of this staff to repost an every day priced item, after you were told this when you posted about a week ago. You're horrible, for posting this and making people think it's a deal. People, this is every day priced at Lowe's.

Why would it? Do you mean a check valve? Your backflow preventer should be before your irrigation valves on the mainline. Unless your talking about attaching this to a hose bib then that would have a built in avb

Anyone know a good timer switch to use with this for irrigation during vacations?

Doesn't look like it has any backflow valve built in.

Purchased this with last deal on 5/19. Came with the very end creased and damaged/leaking- which is not great (amazon provided a return-less refund). Seemed to be boxed OK so assume it was earlier in the supply chain- just fyi. Overall that's an easy fix as it was the end of my run anyway.

Rachio makes a wifi hose timer that is ~$80-$100. Not cheap but to me an app to turn water on to save some plants is worth it. I mainly use their lawn sprinkler version

I enjoy my Rachio hose timer, even has options for rain skip based on forecast etc.

My Melnor timer switch has worked great. I have the sensor attach to it so it turns off if it detects that it's wet in the ground.

Although I bring the timer inside during winter. I think people's timer/switch breaks if left outside. If you plan to leave it out during winter, then you may want to invest in a heavy duty one or find some covering for it.

I too like my Rachio irrigation controller; it takes the irrigation to the next level.

I believe Rachio hose timer (2 pk) may be found at Costco warehouses in clearance section for a great price if they are still in stock.

I know nothing about this but wanted to look into running something for my mom. Do you just hook one end up to a faucet/hose, and bury the rest underground along your beds?

You aren't wrong overall, but a lot of regions don't require vacuum breakers built into hosebibs. Or changed it more recently. So that part isn't always true.

Please note, this does not have any emitters, so you will need to add them yourself. If you need longer lines, there are cheaper options per foot (say you can use 500 ft, then you can find tubing for about 10-12 cents per foot as opposed to 24 cents for this deal,) but if you only need short lines, this will do.

The previously mentioned Wi-Fi one is a good option but this is the one I've been using since 2018 for my side and back garden with no problems (only installed during watering times, brought inside for winter) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008VDULGG it was $6 cheaper then. Have it connected to a two-way splitter at my hose bib so I can use the hose and set up the 2 segments to water (I run a hose to the area then go to a drip line for the cannabis and fruit.) there is of course a single zone a two-zone and a three zone option if you think you'll use two zones but don't need the second immediately you can just set that zone to run for zero minutes absolutely set it and forget it.

How does this work? Are there small holes in the hose or something? It just looks like a regular hose to me
