I think it's worth it and I absolutely hated it when I first played it. Put it on the shelf for more than six months. Finally tried it again. Once you get a little ways into it gets so much better. I'd put it my top ten games now but I also love open world games. The soundtrack and graphics are great.

I preordered the game when it was first released and I really enjoyed it. Maybe my taste in games is bad but I would say it's in my top five. I find myself going back to it every few months to replay it. If you don't mind spending a little more money I would get the directors cut for the extra content.

If you are interested in this game, then play it till you get to chapter two or so (whenever u start getting vehicles or a weapon) Game at first feels like a walking simulator and then suddenly changes into a different genre. Liked the story as well and cut scenes are dope!

It's been $10 several times. During one of Best Buy's $10 for 10 days deal they had the PS5 version for $10, which dwarfs this deal.

If you have a PS5, it might be worth it to either pay $20 for the director's cut or pay $10 to upgrade this one. You can look up the differences and decide for yourself if worth it. The director's cut is also on PS+ Extra.

The technology and graphics in the game are quite impressive. But the gameplay was incredibly boring for the first few hours. I quit at that point due to boredom. This might be one of those games that starts off slow but gets interesting later on.

FWIW I platinumed the original and then platinumed the directors cut. Great game especially if you're familiar with Kojima's style.
Anyone who says it's a walking simulator clearly hasn't actually played more than an hour or two. The first section of the game is essentially a tutorial area, it opens up into so much more...

I played to some part where there was a bunch of black goo. Spent a few tries trying to get past it, kept dying, tried again about a month later, same result. Then I just lost interest, maybe I should give it another go then

I found this game incredibly frustrating. You walk through a place that looks normal, then suddenly a black goo trap comes right up and grabs you. All your packages are ruined and the baby is freaking out. I managed to make it to the boat and to the second area, but had no interest in continuing.
