From my limited research...

Reddit says stay away from this company if you want long term support.

YouTube reviews (paid/incentivized) says great bike for the price.

SD commenters are more interested in teaching Global Macroeconomics 101.

I can't see any reason to spend this much on something that can very well become paperweight after about a year of usage. Which is a shame. I would've liked to have gotten a "Slickdeal".

Geez y'all... Can we talk about the bike instead?

So I bought two of the Austin for $519 for my kids back then. I'm thinking of getting this for myself. They've put over 200 miles on it since and no issues (got 2 flats but thats on my kids).

This one is couple hundred more..but it does have 750w motor/52V 13AH battery vs. 500w/48V 14AH battery on the Austin.

All else seems to be similar--20x3 fat tire, mechanical brakes (ugh), top speed, weight, etc.

Not sure if its worth the $200 if I'm only getting the bigger motor. If they had upgraded the brakes to hydraulics, then maybe its a consideration. But I'll hold off until a better deal comes around...

Most of this is correct, except the trickle charge part. Li-ion batteries are happiest at around 50% charge. Not around 0%, nor 100%, which a trickle charge would maintain. I would suggest just leaving an ebike's battery depleted in its used state until the next ride, charge to 100% before heading out, it does take a bit more planning, but most hours & days, it's not sitting at 100% or close to 0%. I've done this on my Chinese cheap e-bike from 2 years ago, and it's maintaining the same range as when I originally bought it. The same advice applies to li-ion EVs & phones. If your phone has a setting, enable the charge protection so it doesn't charge above 85% or 90%.

1) Throttle only works when it wants too. When it does Thiers a 2 -3 second delay.2) battery claim is false, only get 10 miles. 3) battery indicator LCD claims 100 percentage,til bike is turned off then back on 29 % remaining charge. 4) battery current indicator does not work at all. 5) left brake handle broke within a week. 6 ) rear wheel no aligned with disc, brakes rub.7) charger stopped charging at 100 miles..contacted company but no reply, contacted Amazon. Who contacted company,they offered new batt, and new brake lever.....lol. Amazon told me to buy a box and pay shipping for refund. Do not buy from Amazon

So does storing li-on batteries inside (out of a hot 90 ° summer garage) also apply to Ryobi and other brands of power tool & lawn / garden tool batteries?

YES! I keep my powertool batteries in my wine cooler at 54 degrees. I try to never fully charge them and store them like that either, which can be tricky if you run one dead and don't get it off the charger before it finishes.
