"Premium" yet has ads? Someone explain this to me. Makes absolutely no sense to call something premium if it has ads. Maybe I'm just old.

Not trying to TC here, but I'll just throw this out there:

I have an email address that's pretty simple (first name, last initial) at a free email provider. I almost *never* give that out other than to "real people" in an attempt to keep it spam-free.

Unfortunately some people seem to think it's theirs or just get lazy and use it for free online signups.

One day, someone in Nebraska (Peacock told me where the device was signed in from) decides to use it to sign up for the free tier of Peacock. Not a huge deal as things like this have happened before (although it's annoying when companies do not require any sort of email verification.) I figure I'll just delete the account. (Use email to log in and then delete - simple enough.)

Unfortunately, Peacock isn't that simple.

If you ever want to delete your account (and the data associated with it) you literally have to submit an Individual Rights Request with NBCUniversal. Short version: it took an hour of my time and then perhaps a 2 or 3 week wait for it to be completed.

This probably isn't a huge deal to most, but if it is something you care about, just be aware before going in.

I have Peacock. I couldn't use the coupon. I went to cancel and they offered my 3 months @ $1.99 per month.

But I should probably fully cancel and just sign up with a new email.

Many of those shows are on Netflix now. I am currently watching Brooklyn 99 for the 3rd or 4th time. There appears to be a lot of NBC stuff there now. (obviously if you don't have Netflix it is irrelevant - I got mine through another promo)
Idk if I would say many, bc when I now check, Only Brooklyn 99 is available on Netflix and nothing else that I've mentioned.. It's obviously up to you, just answering questions on why I think is worth it based off of TV shows.

Also, how tf do I get a downvote on my comment lmfao. I was just answering a question LOL.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank Jottle

I bit on this a couple months ago and regret it. The number of commercial breaks are just out of control. A 30 minute TV show still has at least 3 ad breaks. They're shorter than what you would see if you were watching live TV, but it's just too annoying. $20 is worth it if you just need access to sports/Olympics. But if you're watching lots of seasons of shows, might as well pony up for the ad free plan.

Can you get this deal, then pay $6 for a month of ad free, then cancel the $6 mo and continue with the ad subscription?

I have this plan already. It expires in Aug 2024. Do you think they'll repeat it then?

Are there "Ad Lovers", besides the advertisers? Who is not an "Ad Hater"?

It's amazing to me how many people subscribe to a service to watch 1 or 2 old shows. I bought the complete series of the Office for $30 a few years ago and can watch it anytime without ads.

I'd like to know this as well. $20 is a good deal for Olympics and other sports for the next year, but I'd like to be able to go ad free for limited periods for scripted shows.
