I'm so surprised people are willing to put up with ads on content. I can't stand it, and will not go back. It waste so much of my time and I want to reduce how much influence media has over me.
There are usually planted marketing ads / products in movies shows etc.

I had peacock+ for a year and got 6 month free when I bought a TV. Based on my experience, I will not be joining even at $20 per year. They sometime have new movies, but not everything may appeal to you. And they don't have any shows worth specifically subscribing for (there are a few standouts, but you can just pay for a month and binge watch a season). The few times I saw new movies, I could have just rented them from Amazon or Apple for $4 each, subscribed for a month for any specific show, and still not have spent $20 in a year.

I'm not saying $20 per year is a bad deal. I'm just saying that based on my personal usage of that platform, and considering there are so many alternate streaming options I would subscribe to anyway, even the measly $20 is not worth it for me (emphasis on 'for me').

Based on how much content on the platform appeals to you, and what other subscriptions you might have, this can definitely be worth it to some. I just find it to be a sad indicator of how dire their situation is, if a number of folks like me aren't interested in a supposedly mainstream streaming service even at $20 a year.

fyi ... for those with Instacart+, it includes Peacock Premium (maybe you have a Chase card that gives xyz months of free Instacart+, or maybe your Instacart account is showing the targeted promo of $20 for 1-year of Instacart+ membership).

Was going to get it, but checked I'm already on 'Premium' via XFinity internet! Check into that prior to spending $ on this!

Who still watches WWE?
About 1.7 million people every Monday night on average. Plus whoever else watches smackdown, NXT, and monthly Saturday night events.

Oh they also do live events that aren't televised that isn't included there.

I see it on Amazon, which isn't too bad as the ad is in the beginning. However, on some others it's like mid-show with random stuff. No thanks!

The planted ones are different. They're always there and in many situations makes it more realistic.

Not trying to TC here, but I'll just throw this out there:

I have an email address that's pretty simple (first name, last initial) at a free email provider. I almost *never* give that out other than to "real people" in an attempt to keep it spam-free.

Unfortunately some people seem to think it's theirs or just get lazy and use it for free online signups.

One day, someone in Nebraska (Peacock told me where the device was signed in from) decides to use it to sign up for the free tier of Peacock. Not a huge deal as things like this have happened before (although it's annoying when companies do not require any sort of email verification.) I figure I'll just delete the account. (Use email to log in and then delete - simple enough.)

Unfortunately, Peacock isn't that simple.

If you ever want to delete your account (and the data associated with it) you literally have to submit an Individual Rights Request with NBCUniversal. Short version: it took an hour of my time and then perhaps a 2 or 3 week wait for it to be completed.

This probably isn't a huge deal to most, but if it is something you care about, just be aware before going in.

"Premium" yet has ads? Someone explain this to me. Makes absolutely no sense to call something premium if it has ads. Maybe I'm just old.
Just stupid marketing to trick people into paying. Their noAd tier is called "premium plus"

Thank you for posting this. My annual renewal was set for next week and I was going to have to pay $59.99 for a year which wasn't bad but now I'll be able to use a different email and get it for $19.99 for one year.

You get the premium ads. Not the ones commonfolk see.

Premium nowadays is the lowest tier. Same as all apartments are "Luxury" apartments.
