Bit retention; I've gotten away with the setup you mentioned, but I've also dropped bits.. even tried a magnet, (and felt like I had life-hacked) but it kept pulling into other things

I must be missing something, I'm not getting why it's better than using a 1/4 inch SAE socket with 1/4 inch drive, like I always have.

This has the ball bearing so it holds it in the socket. Ive used a 1/4 socket, problem is when flipped it will sometimes drop the bit.

Honestly, I don't see much use of this adapter. An impact drill or a screwdriver should cover most of the cases. To work in tight spots, mini-rachets with the magnetic head would serve much better.

I picked up the Wheeler Torque driver and never looked back. Originally purchased it for scopes, but turns out I use it for everything. I have a bad habit of "hulking" out screws/bolts too often. This has prevented that.
