$90/12tb = $7.5/tb.
$70/10tb = $7/tb.

Well they've been around for 15+ years so far so there is that. I had 2 drives fail on the 5 year mark, on the month, and they refunded me for both since they no longer stocked what I had. That's excellent customer service.

I'm taking my chance on this! If they are rated for 10 years for constant use, I should be able to get quite the lifespan out of them for my need. Thanks!

What does "certified refurbished" mean? Is there a trusted third-party doing certification? And what exactly is certified?

I was curious, so I went to look at the item auction to find another gem:
"We are confidence that to honor another 5 Years Warranty from these hard drives!
Buy with confidence & Worry Free!"

The Certified was a error on my part. Im just so used to posting Certified refurbs its kinda muscle memory. I fixed it to say excellent as they are previously used most likely in a server environment

This or the Seagate IronWolf NAS 7200RPM Internal SATA Hard Drive 12TB 6Gb/s 3.5-Inch (ST12000VN0007) (Renewed) for $115 on Amazon?
This because the warranty would cover for risk and you can buy three of these for the cost of two 12tb on Amazon.

"used most likely in a server environment", eh? So... Not excellent, but most likely excellent?
Are you confidence that?
laugh out loud

When I hear "refurbished", I think 'the product was broken, then fixed'. These 'feels like' server pulls (i.e.: just used, but never broken), but am hesitant with any 3rd party opening up these drives and fixing it themselves. Confused

Put certified back in, the seller calls it so! Also, it's funnier!

The refurbishing process consist of overwriting hdd with random data, during this process bad sectors are also remapped.

Certified refurbished - nonsense, there's no certification of any kind.

Engrish - means the company either has no resources or doesn't care to proof-read. OK for a $0.99 Chinese items seller, but unforgivable for a hdd refurbisher who insists on "Buy with confidence $ Worry Free!"

Price is only getting better the longer you wait. Now, "if" you band of brothers and sisters will hold out on $50 per terabyte SSD's, we might really get somewhere!
