My Samsung TV only has Arc-hdmi as opposed to arc-e, so maybe that's why it had a ton of trouble connecting. I fiddled with it for a long ass time before I got it working consistently with my tv, Firestick, and ps5. Idk if it's the speaker or the tv's fault but feels more like the latter.

You need all Atmos certified devices, Atmos content, AND Atmos has to actually be working right and not bugged out.
I've watched a number of sound designers talk about Atmos on YouTube and they kind of universally say it's a big marketing scam that means nothing and frequently doesn't work or sounds worse because the audio channels get screwed up.
Any thoughts?
Also, how is Buydig to work with? I've never ordered from them.

I would say it's more the other way around.
Thee biggest issue on why people often have that opinion is because to take optimal advantage, it has to be properly set up.
So if it's not working right, it's often because of an improper/optimal setup.
When you have a reference transfer with a proper setup you would understand it's not scam, it's the real deal!
