The Camp Awn Shelter is an excellent price and value and I encourage anyone looking to buy it at this price. I bought this earlier in the week when it was 40% off and thought it was a good deal then at $120.

Put it up in the backyard this week to check it out. It's such as well thought out design, many little conveniences features, to make countless configurations. Plus it comes with stakes, attached ropes, two nice aluminum poles, and travel bag.

After buying 4 more just now (for gifts and an extra for me), I return to share the news with Slick Deals.

By the way, I just checked the price on Amazon for an MSR collapsible aluminum pole of the same size/quality and 1 pole is $79. So you can literally get this whole set for $10 less than the price of one pole.

Called you out on your BS statement. I wouldn't call that "triggered" but more refuting your baseless claims w/ zero proof or added value to the deal. On top of that, saying this is not same tier is North Face pretty much discredited your whole statement.

These tents are 3 season tents and come with a water proof cover to keep you dry. As long as you don't plan to camp out in deep snow in the winter, they will work just fine in the Rockies. A tent is not going to keep you warm. That's what the sleeping bag is for.

Sorry camping n00b here. But what make the Bridger tent much better than say the Coleman Sundome 4 person tent on Amazon for $86?

First off, if you're going to buy the Sundome, do it at Walmart for $69 not $86 at Amazon Wink

There is a world of difference between the Sundome and the Bridger. In general, the MH tent is made of higher quality materials, higher quality construction and more thoughtful design. Specifically:
- Bridger uses quality polyester fabric (doesn't sag when wet and high UV resistance) with a quality polyurethane coating. Sundome's fabrics aren't even specified, other than the polyethene floor, which is a cheap choice.
- Bridger seams are sealed (Sundome only "inverted" not sealed)
- Bridger uses aluminum poles. Sundome's are fiberglass with external ferrules, which will drive you nuts trying to slide them through the long sleeves. Bridger clips to aluminum poles is FAR less frustrating to set up.
- no vestibule on the Sundome. Vestibule areas are VERY useful for storing gear, shoes, etc
- two doors on the Bridger make entry/exit super easy, especially in the middle of the night (no stepping over other sleepers)
- the full coverage rainfly on the Bridger is far more resilient in rain/storm than the top-only fly of the Sundome

I could go on and on, but I personally wouldn't even consider the Sundome. The Bridger, if cared for (dry it before storage!) will last 10 or 20 years, keep you dry in a thunderstorm, and not frustrate you with setup. If it were $400+ then I could understand hesitation, but at $195 its inconceivable to consider the Sundome.

Sam's club has a Member's Mark 10-Person Instant Cabin Tent for $200. Is that better than Bridger 6 Tent?

A lot of pros and cons to consider for each. Having had a Mountain Hardware Shifter 3 tent before, the 2nd time I had it out I bent poles in 30mph winds. I've never had that issue with cheaper tents, probably because they are made with cheaper and thicker materials. Now I'm back to using a $50 Coleman tent because it hurts a lot less if it breaks.

I've had my MH Sceptre 20F down sleeping bag for 8 years, used it hundreds and hundreds of times, and it's holding up perfectly still. If their quality is still anything like 2014-16, I'd highly recommend Mountain Hardware sleeping bags.

The bag kept me warm sleeping out in the open in colorado even though the outside would get frost covered. In warmer climates I just leave the bag open and use it as a blanket.

is the Bridger 4 big enough for two adults (I'm 6'0"), a teen and another kid plus dog? Car camping only.

Would the CAMP AWN™ SHELTER work as a beach tent or would I be better off getting one built specifically for the beach? It might come in handy if I car camp or have a short hike into a park, but not gonna carry a shelter on a backpacking trip.

I picked up a yawn patrol 15 a few months ago during the last promo. Absolutely love this bag - warm, roomy, and great ventilation options. Ground side of the bag seems to be made from a more durable material than typical.

Good deal. Ordered a 2 person. My Mountain Hardware 1.5 person backpacking tent was finally at the end of it's life after 15 years.
