The Camp Awn Shelter is an excellent price and value and I encourage anyone looking to buy it at this price. I bought this earlier in the week when it was 40% off and thought it was a good deal then at $120.

Put it up in the backyard this week to check it out. It's such as well thought out design, many little conveniences features, to make countless configurations. Plus it comes with stakes, attached ropes, two nice aluminum poles, and travel bag.

After buying 4 more just now (for gifts and an extra for me), I return to share the news with Slick Deals.

By the way, I just checked the price on Amazon for an MSR collapsible aluminum pole of the same size/quality and 1 pole is $79. So you can literally get this whole set for $10 less than the price of one pole.

Called you out on your BS statement. I wouldn't call that "triggered" but more refuting your baseless claims w/ zero proof or added value to the deal. On top of that, saying this is not same tier is North Face pretty much discredited your whole statement.

These tents are 3 season tents and come with a water proof cover to keep you dry. As long as you don't plan to camp out in deep snow in the winter, they will work just fine in the Rockies. A tent is not going to keep you warm. That's what the sleeping bag is for.

I don't think the 4 person is big enough. We have 2 kids and keep our gear in the tent. We use an 8 person tent.

I don't need my tent to protect me from hypothermia..., plus I almost never camp in conditions so bad/cold that I would need a 4 season tent. Most people don't need a 4 season tent. If you are getting wet in heavy rain in your tent with the fly up, you have a placement issue.

My sleeping pad and my sleeping bag has been more than warm enough for any camping trip I've ever been on. As long as the fly holds up which this tent seems to have a pretty complete cover fly.

I'm not saying this specific tent is good or not though.

The biggest difference are:

1) rainfly - it will keep you dry when it rains hard with wind. The Coleman will need a tarp.
2) seam-taping- you will need to buy seam tape or seam sea and seal the Coleman.
3) waterproofing 1500mm - for the Coleman you will need to buy a spray seal to water resist, and spray the whole tent outside and all around.
4) tent footprint - for the Coleman you'll need a tarp as a footpri g otherwise your tent bottom will get eaten up by rocks and debris and it will soak water through when it rains.
5) vestibule- the Coleman doesn't have it.
6) quality build - the Coleman is cheap and will fail after a few seasons.
7) pockets, ventilation, etc…. - Coleman isn't entry level and not is 3 season and requires a lot of effort to make it close to 3 season.

I hope this helps. I just bought one.
