First, SteamVR games run off your computer so you need something specced well enough to handle those
Aside from that, I've been able to run stuff like Half Life Alyx and other games without any issues. My setup is fully wireless (PC connected wirelessly to router (10 feet away) and quest 3 connected wirelessly to router (10 feet away) and haven't had issues. At my old apartment that was built in the 50s, even a wired PC gave me issues as the router had trouble getting through single walls.
If you have a modern/Wifi 6 router, have your PC hardwired for ethernet, and keep the quest somewhat close to the router, you should be good. Sometimes you can get away with less (like me, fully wireless and no issues), other times you might need to hardwire your PC to ethernet and be super close to your router. YMMV.
Either way, you can also USB connect the headset instead if you prefer.
For wireless streaming, theres a free Meta Quest airlink software, free SteamVR software, and paid VirtualDesktop software. For most, VirtualDesktop works best.. for some people SteamVR or Airlink works better, so try them all out and see what works for you. If you do end up buying virtualdesktop (or anything else on quest) you can always instant-refund it if it isn't meeting your needs (provided you play it less than 2 weeks/2 hours)
Use the link below to check local stock. Should show as $462.97 if it's OP's price in store.

Update:
Price dropped to $399.99 in stores. Quick and easy $55 refund through price adjustment. Most likely going to be the best deal on a new Quest 3 for sometime.
A little more than double 1080p, a little more than half of 4k based on number of pixels.

Many people buy the AAA Games and how would you feel if you could only load in 4-5 games at a time?
The real issue is the total insult of even putting ONLY 128gb on a $600+ device when making it 256 or even higher would only cost them a few bucks.
The reason they only offer a 128 and 512 is to try and force people into spending a ton of extra cash on the 512 otherwise they would have made a 256 option.
Another issue is why they did not put a memory expansion slot on the device? The reason, of course, is that everyone would have bought the 128 version and popped in a cheap USB or Micro SD card for about $10 instead of the extra $200 they charge for the 512gb version.
It's all business and I'll stick with my Quest 2 until they stop ripping people off for the Quest 3.
BTW since the Quest 3 is more powerful it's only a matter of time before the games all start to use more advanced graphics rather than the 1990's graphics they use now. When that happens and the size of these games go up, that 128gb is not going to cut cheese.
