In short I prefer the ease of the Phillips menus and ease to clean but the texture of the delonghi espresso (not the large coffee).
I also have a breville barista pro which I never use - better espresso but I don't have the time with 3 kids plus I make my wife a drink each morning is so much easier pressing a few buttons

Evidently its grinder doesnt grind fine enough for a fine espresso. Another reason is that it uses only 7.9g of coffee for each shot at max settings and there is nothing you can do abt it.

The grinder is fine, but snobs could always use a separate grinder and dump grounds in the "ground coffee chute"

Pop out the brew group, rinse, and let the machine dry. If it never dries in there and grounds build up, you get mold.

Superautos make much better coffee than 99% of people have at home. They're cheap to run, durable, and make fun delicious drinks with almost zero effort.
Snobs who diddle over daddy James Hoffman and want to handcraft espresso for 10 minutes on a $3000 machine can indeed make better espresso. To each their own.

If you're lazy like me, don't be discouraged by the maintenance that needs done. It's really very easy, and the convenience of being able to press a button and get a drink any time throughout the day is awesome. I do recommend you get the LatteGo container rather than the basic milk steamer, even if you don't normally drink milk drinks. The convenience is just night and day between the two if you want an occasional cappuccino.
Lastly I'll just say if you're going down the rabbit hole of how to dial this machine in, DO brew a bag's worth of cheap beans through the machine and toss the coffee before trying a cup and judging it. I wouldn't mess with the grind size or settings until you've let the machine settle in first, despite all the comments you may read about lowering the grind settings upfront.
