Now, I bought it 4 years ago so might be old tech these days.
*bonus points because all your devices recognize this no matter where you go. No need to reconfigure each device each time you get to a new location. In the RV that was a big time saver. Smart TV's connected to this the second I booted it up, just had to connect to a campground wifi or my phone. Hotels also nice because my Steam Deck, tablet, and laptop again connected with no log in changes.
No clue why I am ranting about a mini router.....
In the past I used travel routers to create a more secure and stronger Wi-Fi network than the hotel Wi-Fi, using the Ethernet in the hotel room. However, it's unfortunately becoming rare to find Ethernet in newer and remodeled hotel rooms.

They're also selling the GL-SFT1200 at $33, but it'll never get OpenWRT support.
If you don't care about it, then it's a better buy than the WR902AC.

The only downside, it does not let you add any VPN service (OpenVpn or Wireguard), this is just a wireless access port. Now its being use as a wireless repeater at our house. Better get the Gli.net travel routers for a more secured network connectivity when travelling thru airports/hotels.
To use at home? YES
I have multiple TPLink switches and routers, if you are afraid of these being made in China almost all tech hardware is either fully (or partially) manufactured in China or partially made in China, this is how they get the cost down. Heck even super expensive Cisco switches/routers are manufactured in China or somewhere in Asia, Russia, Czech Republic....
If you want a guarantee that your hardware is safe, check out the DOD-approved product list and its vendors.

I'm sure there's some people that travel with 8 million devices or some devices that don't support captive portals or whatever so they need this, and it can be a useful wireless bridge in a pinch, but I'd say skip it if you're on the fence unless you have a really specific use case in mind.
