Thank you for the explanation. Though if you have to be careful not to take more than hair off, how is that still safe?

They're right about it not being the same brand, but I will say the Schick Xtreme3 are pretty decent IMO, they are my alternative to Gillette. If you still buy Gillette, this deal is pretty good. Today, any decent razor under a buck is good.

You can get your money back if you don't like them, but Schicke Extreme3 are pretty solid razors. They don't cut your face all to hell and last multiple shaves.

I don't buy Gillette anymore but can confirm the Shick Xtreme3 work just as well or better for me. They're cheaper, easier to hold in my hand, and shave very well.

Wow, people still aren't shaving with a safety razor? It's not hipster BS, it really is superior

Idk what a safety razor is but I assume thats what these are? Especially compared to a straight razor.

A safety razor is the t-shaped metal razor where it's a single blade and a big metal barrier to keep you from slicing your lips off. Mercur/Merkur is the premier brand and the blades generally don't matter which makes this such an appealing way to shave. Single metal razor purchase for like $30 [https://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Lon...00374F5CY] and you get 100 razor blades for another $5-$10. It takes a careful first time to understand where the cut happens and to ensure you aren't taking more than hair, but it's still a 5 minute shave. These disposables are great for flying but EVERY razor these days is trash and rusted after the first shave unless you're storing them in barber solution.

I've been using one for 8 years and barely ever nick myself, really only when I'm rushing or kinda forget I'm using a safety razor.

As long as you have a quality handle, there's a lot of safety built in. Just make sure you're going the correct direction.

Safety razors are insanely sharp, shaves super close, and high quality blades are cents per shave. They also clog a lot less, cut a lot more area at once, and just get shaving done a lot faster. Be careful around the Adam's apple area!

I get $3.15 after tax for four with this deal, so less than 80 cents apiece.

The Xtreme3 is really an excellent value. My experience is consistent with reports from reviews that the blades for some reason last a very long time. The engineering is very basic though and they're ugly as sin. Gillettes aren't as durable but are better engineered and have much better shelf appeal, and that's pretty much the case with respect to the five-blade flagship products, Hydro5 vs Fusion as well, durability vs. design/aesthetics, plus a slight comfort edge to Gillette products.

The Skinguard disposable offered here is an abbreviated version of the somewhat more expensive Skinguard cartridges designed for Fusion systems. I have a pack of the disposables but haven't tried them, but I assume the principle is the same, slight tradeoff in closeness for better comfort for sensitive skin. I used the cartridge Skinguard before and don't recall having any complaints about it. They rinse easily too so clogging isn't an issue.
