I can't see the bracket for this, but the last UpHere cooler our store used had an all-metal bracket with some foam padding on it. It's HUGE, and extended out far enough that the VRM pins on the back of the board were pressed into the foam. With the slight inevitable vibration from the fan, those VRM pins worked their way through the foam to short out on the bracket. Took about three weeks to start happening, wasn't consistent and was infuriating to troubleshoot. Who would blame the HEATSINK for a pc that shuts off or won't boot randomly, when temperatures were always in the 60s?

That makes no sense to me. They usually all have standard sizes as brackets and the problem you describe sound more like somebody tightened the cooler way to far. I honestly have never even heard of a problem like this occurring and I have been putting PC together for about 30 years now.

Not saying you are wrong but if that is really a thing I will find out soon enough cause I ordered that cooler for a system I put together.
