Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank trkndude299
They are very, very cheaply made and it's a crap shoot as to whether Lowe's will honor the warranty.
Lots of posts on this site about Lowe's turning folks away. Even with receipts showing they were bought at a Lowe's.
ToolGuyD did a article about how Lowe's is basically killing the Craftsman brand by not honoring warranties.
Made in China set.. won't last and will rust. Pass
Tools you buy once and cry once
FWIW... Lowe's has a 159 piece Craftsman set on sale for $99.99 now (retail $199.99).
recent deal here: CMMT12025 - 159pcs, now $99 was $199
(recent SD thread [deal still available BTW] for item CMMT12025 https://slickdeals.net/f/17461794-159-piece-craftsman-mechanics-tool-set-sae-metric-99-free-shipping)
Both deals are 159 pcs, seem exactly the same to me, though the cases are physically configured quite differently.
Only true difference I can notice is that the CHEAPER set seems to have a more "robust looking" (and red) hand driver! If anyone knows the actual reason these two sets are $30 difference when on supposedly deep sale, please let me/us know. I bought the previous $99 set, frankly very pleased with what I was getting. Now this new cheaper configuration looks like it has all the same stuff, at just $69!
My "use case" is that every once in a while I need a tool, but I never have it. I don't remember ever breaking a tool or thinking "Gee this tool isn't good enough for me". I'm exactly who these tools were made for, I guess. Almost never use them, and if I do it will be light and quick usage. I haven't even broken the seal on the new box I bought a short while back, if that sheds light on how frequently they'll get used around here.

...They know no human is ever going to go over the two parts lists with a fine tooth comb and literally check every single item. The world may never know, -just like with Tootsie Roll Pops.
Anyway, if they really are the same, I'd buy this cheaper set too, and gift it to a fellow non-mechanic like me.
I've included a photo detailing the contents of both sets, to enable a perfunctory comparison. This thread deal (CMMT12125) is the picture with the hand driver that's red colored.
