this brand is $18.99 regular price for me locally. I bought one from Amazon for $8.99 back in February.

They protect against that initial scalp poke you get from other brushes, but a lot of the "detangling" is just hair getting stuck above the nub and being pulled out.
Might be fine for some people, but I wouldn't spare the hair.
Conair sells a $5 detangling brush at Target that has no nubs, works on all types of hair, and can be used in the shower.
