I installed a 100W ecoworthy panel with an ecoworthy charge controller and 40 AhHr LiPo battery for outdoor lighting and it has been great so far ( Too be fair, I did this project in April). I do expect the cost of solar panels to double once the China tariffs kick in since there is no low end domestic solar manufacturing in the USA.

Yeah, but most of the time you'll pay $200 shipping and have to order 10 of them.

It's a decent deal for small projects but places like Signature Solar have these low-watt panels for about that price all the time, sometimes with free shipping. You can get 300w for $84

Currently signature solar doesn't have any solar panels for that price

New to all of this, but what battery would you suggest for one of these panels?

Any reason not to get bifacial compared to a normal?

Price seems about the same, seems like a no brainer. All I see is that you may not be able to take advantage of the increased efficiency, depending on your installation.

What connects/controllers do I need for charging my Ecoflow River 2?

EDIT: Found it - just need a MC4 to XT60 extension cable

Not really..as you point out, installation itself leverages the added gain of a bi-facial, so I think if you have a use case where you only want a single or well-separated pair of panels, bi-facials make more sense than simply stacking multiple panels side-by-side, reducing surface reflectivity beneath. I'm not sure if the numbers show much, if any, difference between the types in that arrangement.

Typically MC4 adapter cables, that match your Ecoflow's DC inputs. edit: lol, you got it!

SIngle or small array installs are often set up to charge portable 'sogens', like Jackery, EcoFlow, etc. which already have a charge controller and useable inverter built-in. There are of course more hobby-oriented uses like powering a shed or garage, or mobile uses like vans/campers, where you set up those individual components yourself (or paid) and they more often than not use LifePo4 batteries due to their superior safety, reliability, and lifespan.

Depends what you are using it for. Small campers I use 1 or 2 walmart marine Deep cycle batteries($93 each). runs my lights, fans, tv and such all night; then charges back up in the day with 100w panel. for the price, I would snag a couple as not sure if the Lets go "Brandon" Tarriff will jack the price up. I have been paying $90ish for theses for the last 10 years, and have had these. they are just fine for the price and handy to have when you need one.
Ditch lead acid batteries for a 100AH lifepo4 battery. It will last you several thousand charge cycles and you can fully discharge it, unlike lead acid, which can only be discharged 50% or damage will occur.

I have a 12v 50 watt submersible pump for the pond, which draws 7amps.

This panel is 12V and max current is 10.83A (which I understand it's usually less).

Can I hook that pump directly to this panel without using a voltage regulator/converter? I also don't want to use any battery or controller. I just want a very simple set up.

I'm ok if the pump only runs when it's sunny or mostly sunny, I'm in southern CA and gets lots of sun.

Thanks! and sorry for the newbie question.

this is the pump i want to use:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...NZFV&psc=1

Lead acid is way better for very cold climates.

Just what I was going to say. And, they can get wet, hot, cold, frozen, and live to tell the tale.
(there is a limit for all batteries when frozen comes to mind. A cracked case will make things a real mess.)

LiPo4 is the better battery, within certain uses. Outside of those uses, lead acid is hard to beat. Plus, one can get factory seconds for around $50.
