I haven't purchased it, but here's a 50-piece kit for $20: https://www.amazon.com/Connectors...0CQ6Z84G9/.

full disclosure/weird story: I bought a different Wimitools connector kit that was prominently labeled "Wago", but that listing (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CQ6YVTLJ/) has since been scrubbed of all uses of the word "Wago". I contacted them and they confirmed that the connectors are Wagos (they said "we are just repackaging"), so I don't know why they removed the brand name from the listing. There is one review on that listing that claimed the connectors were not Wagos (based on a 3% size difference?), so perhaps they wanted to start a new listing and hope for better reviews. I can't tell a difference between the ones from that pack and other Wagos I've purchased from other sellers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd rather spend the extra than have it (in order of most to least likely):
1 - Fail and cause the field device to stop working, work intermittently, or damage the field device.
2 - Fail and trip a breaker.
3 - Fail and cause a fire.

I'm not going to say "knock-off or unlisted electrical connectors will cause your home to catch fire with near certainty" - but there is a chance.

With how aggressive insurers are becoming as they experience significant financial losses, installing unlisted (non UL/CE) hardware could become more risky than the cost savings when you consider the chance of a claim denial after State Farm buys your Amazon purchase history.

A thought like that previously would only come to somebody wearing a tinfoil hat, but with how quickly computing is moving there's no guessing where we'll end up.

I agree! Some things it's ok to get directly from China. Electrical items like this, even if half price, as a DIY'er, the difference is not worth it. I'm not building a whole house, just replacing things here and there. So, I'm ok spending a little extra for the peace of mind. As a DIY'er, these are fantastic - easy and a sure and safe connection.

Note these are 24-12 AWG. There's a version that does a more useful 20-10 AWG. The smallest wire you'll ever need to connect to in home electrical is 18AWG in some light fixtures; lower than at and you are in low voltage systems.
The issue with the version that handles 10AWG wire is that they're much bigger. If you're got plenty of room in the box you probably won't notice, but if you've got 4 Lutron dimmers crammed into a box with 15 various wires, the small Wagos are much nicer.

That said, I do have some of the larger versions for 10AWG wire. Never know when you might need a few.

For folks who want to try these connectors and don't care about brand, Home depot sells the ideal-branded wagos for $13 per 100 pack.

Edit: sorry that's the price for push-in style not the ones with levers. Home depot sells both styles tho. Thanks for catching that sxg6.

I love Wagos, they're excellent connectors.

But this is a high-risk situation. Counterfeits are extremely common on scAmazon due to inventory commingling, and counterfeit mains electrical products have a very real risk of catastrophic failure -- possibly leading to fire.

This is not something where you should pinch pennies looking for a bargain. Buy from a reputable source that does not have a risk of fakes.

So much this.

Good god people, you're risking your and your family's lives over what, a dime or nickel a unit, tops? It's been shown hundreds upon hundreds of times china doesn't give a tinker's damn if they sell defective, dangerous shit.

I'm all for getting deal, but this is sketch as f*ck.

Also note that the 4xx series is rated at 20A, while the 6xx series is 30A...even for a 20A kitchen circuit, I'd only use the 6xx series....4xx fine for all other 15A circuits.

There are tons of genuine Wagos on Amazon, from 50 cents a piece to as low as 30 cents. This is more or less an every-day price.

Then get the one in the box that Peppy Products makes for packaging these bulk connectors. They're a reputable seller and they're the only seller of that specific packaged product, so there's no chance of mixed inventory.

Only if you buy a lot. $19 to be set with the variety pack of 36 is a great deal. You could buy 50x 3-Conductor for $20, 25x 5-Conductor for $16, and $50 2-conductor for $18 for a total of $54 and end out slightly ahead of this deal at 43 cents per piece, but when you drop to lower quantities, like the boxes of 10, the price per connector goes up to 60-70 cents each. It all depends on how many you need.

Any Sparky's want to chime in on these? I know outside of the USA, wire nuts are a no no, but over here we swear by them. So are the wago's considered the safer alternative to wire nuts outside of the usa? Also i can see contractors going broke spending 30-50 cents per wire vs nutts...

Then again we are allowed to use 40amp 8 awg wire nuts which is scary as hell.

Then we can get into a fight with the pre twisters vs the "under no circumstance should you pretwist"

Lol why would they "go broke" when they just pass the cost onto the customer? Zero logic.

Wago holds to something like 40 lbs if my memory serves me well. There are many tests on YouTube.

False! You must not have any kids? Wagons certainly solve my problem set of lugging kids and all their stuff around.

In all seriousness, I got into an electrical box one time where the hot feeder wire was barely long enough to get into that box, I have no idea how the electrician managed to connect it to the back of that outlet. There was no way I was getting a wire nut on there with a pigtail so I would have some play, but using a push in type connector made that job a snap. I absolutely see problem sets that they do solve. Still not 100% on them, however. I don't use them in situations where I don't need them but I certainly needed one there!

'In a very obnoxious voice' "Errrrr back in my day boy I would've fired you if you showed up on my job site with those toys. You should have soldered those two ends together like a real man, boy"
