Less stinky. I have both, all cotton and sports brand poly. My personal anecdote is that I fly to Japan a lot. Like once a year. It's all almost the same, take a shower, grab my backpack, then it takes about 20 avg hours from leaving my apt to get to my friend's house over there. I shower once I get there and the poly makes me exceptionally stinkier than the times I wear cotton. Sorry, this is TMI on a personal anecdote, but hey, it's a test that made my decision on what undies I prefer.

But I do like to use the poly ones for, well, playing sports or cycling for leisure and exersize. Cycling is a big one, cotton chafes bad.

I get no S&S discount. I can select S&S, but no discount. Never seen that before.

No, but also everyone has their own fabric preferences. IMO synthetic fabrics have a better stretch, can be warmer, and often last longer, but 100% cotton is more comfortable. I personally prefer cotton underwear, but to each their own.
