Yeah; I have two WYZE (other models)

The subscription-based business is a total BS.
End up you'll pay so much more, with the gimmick of selling cheap cameras to lure you from the beginning

That doesn't match what's on Wyze's website. Cam plus is $3 per month per camera. The $10 per month plan cover unlimited cameras

I pay $1 per month for Cam Plus Lite. This cam may or may not qualify, but I don't believe they're accepting new CPL subscriptions now.
But it's free....

Isn't this always on sale? I'd be careful buying it from Amazon. It is more than like used, refurbished, or open-boxed. Keep that in mind with all of Amazon's sales.

Have they fixed the Echo Show interface yet? They told me it was a "priority" months ago.
What issue? I have this model and the older ones and I can pull them up on both my echo show 5 and 8 currently.

They just updated the service so now it's $13/month or $130/year for Cam unlimited

How hard is it to install it if it's wired? Imagine no experience at all.

You could use this like a wireless wyzecam? How is this compared to the other wyzecam that is wireless?

The v4 camera is awesome and great picture but you get absolutely no features unless you pay for the ai feature. Without it, it alerts you of every motion. Unlike the previous cameras which allowed you to get person detection only for a lower cost. Now it's all under the same cam plus which is $10 a month for each camera. That's more expensive than Ring cameras which allow unlimited cameras for one price.
i dont understand why no company has stepped up as the ultimate dyi hardware seller for self monitoring. theycould charge a bit more for the camerals than wyze, but couldl beome known as the gold standard for diy local network gear for home automation...

The V4 is the best camera they have. Higher resolution clear better quality more detail to audio is incredible much much better than anything they have or any camera I ever used and I have expensive POE cameras and the audio on the V4 is awesome
If you don't mind, which POE camera setup to you recommend? I really need to update my old LaView poe cameras and nvr. I did originally run all the cameras with cat6a. Better night vision is first on the list, had a few issues over the years and couldn't make out the person and it's always at night. I don't need audio or the ability to pan. Audio would be a bonus though on one of the cameras maybe but not required.
I really appreciate your time and knowledge.

The Cam Pan has a power cord. Setting up requires that you have the app on your phone/tablet and having wi-fi set up, then adding cameras is fairly easy. The interface for the Cam Pan is different than the one for the v3 cameras—not better, just different layout.

These suck. The base comes in view limiting view. You can mount upside down and flip view in settings but for some reason it limits even more of the view. Disconnects constantly for no reason to where you have to physically unplug it to reset it.

There is absolutely no way the image quality on the v4 will compare to a decent hardwired cam with NVR. I love my wyze cams but with over 99% compression ratio on the video, it doesn't matter how high the resolution is, it all becomes moot at a certain point.

Side by side comparison of OG (1920x1080P) and v4 (2560x1440P) shows minimal, if any difference. Image quality between my OG and Pan v3 is pretty identical so same case there.

Meanwhile my 720P dash cam in my car from 10 years ago has much better image quality due to much less compression. A hardwired 1080P cam with NVR will blow any of these cams away as far as image quality goes. Audio quality obviously depends on each individual camera but is usually not a major feature people are looking for.

This cam does not work with CPL. I'm sticking with my older cams for now.

The following cameras are compatible with Cam Plus Lite:

Wyze Cam v1, v2 and v3
Wyze Cam Pan v1 and v2
Wyze Cam Outdoor v1 and v2
No cams made after January 2023 will work with CPL (and obviously no new users have been allowed in CPL since then either, only grandfathered). Cams after the v3 are now priced to break even or lose money on the cam in hopes they can upsell you on a monthly subscription. They work fine with SD cards. No sense in locking yourself into older, lower quality cams just to get free 30 second clips. The OG and Pan v3 are a huge step up in image quality and functionality vs. the ones you list.

If the monthly service is that important, it is like $25 per cam per year or $99 for unlimited cams. CPL will go away at some point, if you're lucky it will last until the v3 goes "end of support" but probably sooner than that.
