I've been playing 20+ yrs, and playing in a band I currently use a Mesa Boogie mini rectifier for my head. It can run at 25 Watts, but I run it at 10 watts pushing a 2x10 cab and have no trouble keeping up with our drummer or bass player.
I used to run the Bugera V55 HD, but it was way too much, and SO HEAVY! lol.
I still own the Bugera T5 infinium, and it pushes my 2x12 cab nicely with those 5 watts! I will mention the T5 is kind of lacking a clean channel.
This T55 is better suited to push a 4x12 cab at ear bleeding levels, or perhaps even a full stack. It can probably attenuate lower, but why buy so much more than you need?
If you are a new guitarist, I might suggest a nice combo amp unless your needs dictate something totally different.

We're talking about a speaker-level output here, not line-level! It's way more power than the inputs on your mixer are designed to handle, and your mixer will be releasing the magic smoke if you try to connect it directly.
You could use a load box to bring the signal level down to a level where you can safely connect this to a mixer, but honestly, this probably isn't what you're looking for. You'd have a lot easier time just using a sim of some sort. There's two main types of sims: amp sims and cab sims. You'll need both, but a lot of them can do both jobs. There's a huge range of them, from something as simple as a $45 Vox amPlug (here's a demo of one plugged straight into a computer [youtube.com]), to a $150 Joyo Preamp House, to a $400 ToneX, to a $1700 Quad Cortex.
