We have concluded our meeting and are all in agreement that we would like for you to get started on Makita batteries.

On the FLEXVOLT, I have a few since I have a 60V chainsaw, trimmer, blower and circular saw. However, I never use them on my 20V tools, not even my FLEXVOLT Advantage, since they are so bulky and heavy.

Inventory has built up. Tool companies (especially Dewalt) have gone from feast to famine.

2 for $100 should be the MSRP on these.

And don't even get me started on Makita battery prices.

Seems solid, is this a worthy deal compared to past deals? I'm still going strong on 18V that just won't die, but I want to start incorporating in 20V.

I'm right there with you. I switched to after market batteries with an average cost of $30 each on Amazon for the 5s. But for the extra $20 it's tempting to get a couple more real ones, however I'm considering switching to flex volts so I can start buying those tools as well.

Deals on this two-pack have typically been around $130. At that price, they are generally not considered a great deal on SD (between -3 and +3 thumbs up). A year ago (also from Fasteners) there was a deal for the two batteries, a charger and a bag for $130. However, I haven't seen them this low before.

$10/Ah is generally considered great deal territory for these. With all the battery deals that could change.

I needed batteries a year ago so bought a similar deal from this place and have been happy.

I have plenty of batteries and chargers but still slightly tempted.

Haha yes. I keep thinking I need to pare down my tool batteries as I have way more than I need--and then a deal too good to pass up comes along!

Are two 20v 1.7 amp batteries okay for most small home projects/repairs? For example, building a holder for two trash cans to keep animals out? Or, do I need to get something like this to be able to do that type of work?
