I'm still rocking the ps4 pro and Xbox one s. Is this worth the upgrade at this point or better to wait for whatever is next? I don't upgrade often and only play casual
Go for it, it's an amazing hardware for an incredible price. If you want to play new gen games, there is no better option for the price right now

Only problem with this refurbished 90 day warranty if SSD dies it bricks the console since its tied to motherboard by 1GB encryption partition. Ebay offers 1-2 year on Refurbished items.

It worth picking it up for those with the same ecosystem and those don't care for PC and PS5. Quick resume and SSd are not a joke
No kidding. Quick resume is probably low key my favorite feature of the Series X. I just booted up Jedi Survivor after not touching it for at least a month and it was immediately back to when I last played. No splash screens, no title screen, just instantly back in the game. And that's after messing around with a bunch of other games in the meantime.

Quick resume would be great if a bunch of games didn't mess up using it. Good example is Rocket League. Quick resume always messes up the network connection. I know it's a developer thing and not MS fault, but it gets so damn annoying.

Just wondering if anyone still uses the old xbox 360?
I have my old one in storage and was curious if it would still be able to do anything at all if connected online, like download digital game purchases that were already purchased years ago, or did they force people to buy the newer systems to do that.

Yes, still useful even offline. It not even a DRM machine. I have the 360 S bought in 2010 and the WiFi reader has stopped working. I bought game digitally as attached to the external hard drive and it still playable.

Refurb direct from MS is better, right now ebay has em @ 399 w/ a 2YR warranty. Woot only gets you 90 days.

Thx, I'll grab my 360 from storage the next time I go and try it out, I've been kinda wanting to play the old rock band 3/guitar hero games. I wonder if songs could still be downloaded that were purchased for those games, but I'm pretty sure I had them already downloaded so if they can't I should be ok.

I was the same until a year ago. It's an upgrade but not a leap for the Pro. The One S is a pretty big leap. I got the series X first for that reason. Not sure if the few PS5 exclusives are with the cost, but with these sales the Xbox series X might be a good time to jump in.

Insane price. They must be desparate.

I feel bad spending $400 at target about 6 months ago.

You can keep it from happening for specific games:

They're phasing out physical games, and looks like they will be going all digital model consoles in the future based on their digital only consoles they announced this morning.
https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2024/...e-options/

Two digital only consoles and a "special limited release" disc console with 2TB storage, for $599.99. Clearly they are funneling people into the cheaper digital only consoles going forward. Unsure if these older disc models will end up going up in price over time or not, since it seems like less physical release games are being released at the same time. I wanted to get a Xbox One X, but I just don't see the benefit over PC + Game Pass, first generation I've skipped on Xbox.

Wow, what a disappointing announcement. It was rumored from the FTC court document leaks that the next Xbox refresh would at least have better power efficiency and controller improvements. Sony now has an opening to eat Microsoft's lunch even harder.

I do think at some point (say, 3 years from now) it's worth it to snag a Series X at a deep discount as I think this will be Microsoft's last console to support physical media. But I don't know that these will retain their value like Nintendo consoles do. Discs were never a great way to play or preserve physical media anyway.
