I have the paperwhite signature Ed. and it's pretty convenient. I don't end up using mine too often anymore because I have a Galaxy fold 5 and its far superior but 15x the price. The battery on the kindles is ridiculous like a month of reading 2 hours a day but 2.5 months if not reading often. Definitely need a case if you want it to last. I purchased mine on ebay for around 115$ with case.

All those kindles are the same. Get a refurbished one for 30-40 bucks and is the same thing.

I have this model and it is great. However, I have an older and cheaper version (2015) and it is awesome too. You can get the older ones for as low as $30 on Woot sometimes. Both versions are worth it though, if you like to read.

Mine was $20. No ads. Seems about right for what they are, don't understand the 100+ prices.

If you're limiting to paperwhite with warm lighting, yea. Otherwise, those have been amazing for me. But I get a ton of use out of it.

i prefer the paperwhite to other models of kindles as an ereader. it doesn't overheat when reading in the sun and the e-ink is easier on the eyes in low light. the battery lasts weeks, which is another plus.

i have a 2018 model i picked up in 2021 that works great, replacing a 2015 model that finally was a bit laggy, so they do have good longevity.

I have old non-paperwhite as well as Paperwhite. The non needs ambient light, just like a real book, can't read in the dark. Paperwhite is awesome.

The newer Paperwhites also are water proof and have Bluetooth/Audible book functionality.
