It's the usual Southwest Air bait-and-switch "starting at $xx." All the deals are for places you don't want to go, or don't depart from where you live.

This kind of post should be deleted by mods. Sometimes it's nice to know a deal ahead of time as a deal post but this isn't even telling you what the deal is and we know Southwest deals like this are lukewarm at best. This should be over in a forum section of the website until the deal is live and we can vote on actual information.

Edit: It's worse than I thought, the original poster was staff too lol. I love this website but man it's not what it used to be. For those of you reading my comment later than others, I wrote this when there was 0 information about the actual deal, this posting started before Southwest had any info on the actual sale.

"Deals" are meh, imo.

I signed up for Rapid Rewards to get early access today via the app, and snagged a flight to So Cal from Chicago for under $100, one way. I was reasonably happy about it, but my mistake was not checking Google Flights first, where I found better prices. The saving grace is Southwest's two-checked-bags-free policy, which I need for this trip, but if I were able to travel with just a carry-on bag (or if my Frequent Flyer status allowed me free checked luggage), the deals on Google Flights would have been better.

The other birthday bonuses are also meh.... unless of course, you happen to win something in their Sweepstakes. Smilie

I've been checking all year for a certain flights from my city to SoCal for cheap. So many sales and nothing at the $120 round trip I wanted until this sale! Fantastic! Dirt cheap flights booked for the fam. Stoked.

My trip meets the requirements & location, yet when dates selected I got a red banner with "Sorry, the promotion code entered cannot be validated…" The only valid reason would be: 1) The fares displayed below are lower than those available with the promotion code. 2) Our promotion code system is temporarily unavailable.

The prices shown are normal prices I see every weekend. BS
