And why is FHD+ not 2k?

LG says:
16" WUXGA (1920x1200) IPS 300nits Glossy / Anti-fingerprint, 45% NTSC, 60Hz, Dolby Vision®, TÜV Low Blue Light, Glass, Touch

1920x1200=2304k pixels

Wikipedia says:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2K_resolution
"2K resolution is a generic term for display devices or content having a horizontal resolution of approximately 2,000 pixels. In the movie projection industry, Digital Cinema Initiatives is the dominant standard for 2K output and defines a 2K format with a resolution of 2048 × 1080. For television and consumer media, the dominant resolution in the same class is 1920 × 1080, but in the cinema industry this is generally referred to as "HD" and distinguished from the various 2K cinema formats

I wonder why all these laptops still provide usb a and hdmi ports if Dell xps moved to only two thunderbolt 4 ports to make it slimmer…

So are you saying 1920 x 1080 is 2k also? Because it's FHD

because this monitor is FHD+ and QHD is 2560x1440(1440P) which is 2k
That's universally industry accepted . Best Buy is being deceptive
