Here's a review [cnet.com] for a slightly more powerful version.

Seems like an awesome price for a 16" touchscreen laptop with good performance. But I agree about the 2-in-1 bit; i've owned several Yogas and they are really too heavy to be used as a tablet.

The specs say 3lbs. That's pretty heavy to hold as a tablet. I still have a C940, which weighs about the same.

Works for me. Might be location dependent.

I really hate the 2k nomenclature. If it's a fhd/fhd+ screen, just call it that. No need to confuse people into associating with 4k.

The Ideapad's have equivalent or better processors for the money and are lighter than the yoga's

I have a 13 inch Asus Zenbook 2-in-1 and although it doesn't replace my 8 inch tablet I like using it in tablet mode to read Kindle books. Too heavy to use with one hand for extended periods of time unless you have the bottom edge on your lap or table. It is a lighter laptop than some 11.6 inch ones I have had but a 16" would be too big and heavy to use as a tablet.

The Core Ultra 7 version with 1TB SSD is $100 more ($699) and there are open box Excellent for $633.

Seems like an even better deal than the Ultra 5/512GB model.

Wonder why manufacturers put such terrible screens on otherwise well speced machines.

Possibly. But they are all-plastic entry level machines and probably won't last as long.

The use of 2K in the title here is wrong. This is FHD+, not 2K. 2K = QHD = typically 2560 x 1440 (16:9) pt 2560 x 1600 (16:10).

If 4k is 3840x2160, then 2k is 1920x1080, or standard HD. Since this screen's horizontal resolution is also 1920, it is technically 2k, but as you noted, the aspect ratio is different. QHD is higher than 2k; it would more accurately be called 2.5k. No doubt Lenovo rates the screen as 2k so as to make it somewhat familiar to the layperson.
