Target no longer accepting gift cards as payment for phone cards??

Many of us have used Target gift cards to purchase our prepaid wireless phone cards especially when Target does the % off deals. My AT&T prepaid is due so I went the route as I have done in the past and purchased some Target giftcards to buy my AT&T prepaid refill card. ONLY to find out at check out that I can no longer pay for them using a Target gift card! Confused (see attached screen shot) I tried several combinations of prepaid wireless cards with the same result. This sucks! Now I have $300 in Target giftcards that I can't use on my wireless

Just wondered if others were aware of this change.
