Benchmarked on the Steam Deck, the SanDisk Ultra line's read/write is 90/30 MB/s. This was tested with the 256GB variant, but it's safe to expect similar performance from the 1.5TB variant. In other words, this card does not fully saturate the Steam Deck's benchmarked transfer bandwidth of ~90 MB/s for both read/write.

You'll be fine if you're not transferring or downloading games often, or if your internet isn't much faster than 240 Mbps (30 MB/s). And since there aren't many 1.5TB cards on the market, the sheer size on this one might be worth the sacrifice in write speeds.

But if you DO transfer games often, have faster than 240 Mbps internet, plan to use Ethernet to use Networked Transfer with your PC, or wanna try dual-booting Windows on this thing, you maaaaaay wanna consider waiting for a sale on a better card—like the PNY PRO Elite, SanDisk Extreme, or Samsung Evo, which are among the best-performing microSD cards for the Steam Deck.

As for cost efficiency per gigabyte: The last sale I saw for a 1TB of the above models is $68 for the PNY PRO Elite. That one came out to $0.068/GB. This one comes in at $0.066/GB. They're roughly equivalent in terms of capacity. So you have to decide if you're okay paying what is effectively the same price for a bigger but slower card.

1.5TB on a microSD card? Wow I'm out of touch. I was looking for more laptop storage without replacing the internal drive and I guess this would be an option.
Why? Some of the games are 30gb+ even I was shocked when it said it was out of space. Witcher is 40gb!

I did the same (with the 1TB) for my laptop a few years back. It definitely works, but keep in mind the reason/writes are pretty slow. If you're just using it for storage though, and not needing quick access or constantly reading/writing, it works fine. Definitely a good alternative to swapping internal drives!

Still available. I don't think they knew to click the drop-down.

This title is misleading. It does not come with a Nintendo Switch.

That was not my title. My original title was altered a lot. Lol

I sent a message to subzero maybe they will change it. I dunno.

Great price however that write speed is extremely slow. Couple hours to transfer.

it's not about the storage size. did you test with a card that says V10 or V30?

if you're getting 30MB/s that's a V30 card. this card is V10 which would be slower sustained speeds than the typical V30

I normally agree but my steam deck doesn't care either way. Games load the same, just takes longer putting them on. For Batocera mainly. So many games now...

That's what I thought too. I read the title thinking "That's an amazing deal getting a free Switch with a memory card purchase"

Pretty much what I use these big sdcards for. The new 1TB+ cards were announce last year but implementation has been painstakingly slow.

Because it comes with a free Nintendo licensed SD card and will most likely be used to pirate games. Nintendo is actively having emulators taken down among other anti piracy nonsense.
Funny since Nintendo are the original crooks. The were shipping out refurbished units by the pallet as new when I worked there in another lifetime.
