I have this unit and just bought 3 more for friends / family / backup. Here is what I recommend.

The 2mh battery isn't enough to run this device, you will be let down if that is what you have.
The filter for this fogger is too small, I am only spraying liquid for mosquitos (bifenthrin), so I drilled a very small hole in the filter and the device has been awesome.

Let me know if you have any questions.

In theory you get better coverage (with less chemical use) vs just spraying which soaks some parts with drops while 1 cm away is completely dry. A fog also (again in theory) better flows around obstacles for more complete coverage. Imagine using a sprayer against a screen door, the entire door would be drenched while everything behind it would be dry as a bone. In contrast a fogger's mist would penetrate said screen. A screen in my example could be replaced by leaves, spiderwebs, etc in the real world.

For the spray itself:

I think dissuading mosquitoes over a very small area is exactly the point of this. Or disinfecting a small area. Not treating city park or doing a CDC HAZMAT job at major hospital. Most of these items describe their use case as 5000 sq/f for insecticide, basically a suburban backyard. The treatment lasting a few hours, or enough time for a summer cookout. Now, if you need to burn through gallons of spray then perhaps a gas powered solution might better fit your needs. The people using these machines are buying their treatment in quart sized bottles.

Some people need a framing nailer while other people just need a hammer.

I have one. Not a very good device. Check out the Mosquito Sniper.

I have no affiliation with the company. I was just looking for an alternative to using a propane fogger.

Well damn, I have the mosquito sniper and thought for $15 I'd give this a try. I don't think the sniper does a better job than just a backpack sprayer and nozzle.

What is a cordless fogger mainly used for? Do you put a liquid in and it turns to fog?

This puts out so little chemical, hard to imagine a situation where you wouldn't be better off with just a sprayer. And if you really need a fogger, there's no substitute for something like this https://www.amazon.com/Tomahawk-B...04&sr=8-18 [amazon.com]

In for one. For $15 if it lasts two seasons it's worth it. I like my propane fogger but it more of a pain.

I bought two of these and both failed right out of the box. They were both clogged and would not spray. One I paid full price for at Home Depot. The other one I got on sale from Direct Tools. RYOBI refused warranty on both saying I put something in it that I was not supposed to, but all I put in them was water and a few tablespoons of Hydrogen Peroxide to spray powdery mildew on my cucumbers, which is why I bought them in the first place. I finally gave up on RYOBI and paid the local repair place $80, and vowed to never buy another RYOBI tool as long as I live.

I'm just sharing my experience as someone who bought this optimistically, and had to buy the $400 fogger cause this can't put out an effective amount of chemical for any reasonable area. Perhaps one picnic table? Feel free to get bitten up by mosquitos, but a real fogger costs what it costs whereas this is ineffective and worth $0

The Mosquito Sniper gets that spray pretty far. I can hit entire trees in our yard with the Sniper.

This "fogger" is like a Fischer price version of the Sniper. Calling it a fogger is misleading. It is a mister.

It's very sensitive to the angle you hold it at. If you change the angle too much from being level, it stops misting and starts squirting.

I have literally only run water in mine and when I saw how it behaved, I never really used it. Now we may use it on super hot days when working in the yard and a cool water mist might feel nice.

My Ryobi alert brought me here so I'm not a Ryobi hater. They just have some tools that aren't very good. This is one of them. Their leaf vacuum sucks too.

I got several of these and just recently upgraded to an automatic mosquito misting system. These are good until it stops spraying well and just kind of sputters and sprays the liquid out without fogging. I've returned one and currently have 2, with only one working. Not sure I'd recommend it long term.
