If you want to play Fable on steam deck, get the anniversary edition. It works better, including controls.

Recently? That was at the XBox showcase 4 years ago. It was the same event where they revealed the Xbox Series S/X.

I actually prefer TLC, and I know a lot of people who feel the same. Aside from graphics and addition of the Heroic difficulty, there aren't many differences, and the ones that exist aren't significant. And heroic difficulty is basically a joke.

As for the graphics, graphic style is mostly preference. While graphic fidelity is better in the Anniversary Edition and textures and environments largely look better, the character design is much better in the original&TLC IMO. The more cartoony character style and brighter color palette just fit the game better and aged better than the Anniversary Edition.

If you have a strong preference for the Anniversary Edition's graphics, go for it. But I personally don't think it's much of an improvement (if any), and certainly not worth 3x as much. $10 is what I paid for TLC 19 years ago.

TLC is much much better than ann edition of you use mouse and keyboard. TLC is PC first, while ann ed is ported controls and will make you feel sick when you turn with mouse. Plus all the good mods are on TLC

I remember the game as I had it for my 360. The mechanics for fighting was meh. The ending option was funny as hell.

They did make an anniversary edition that improves the graphics. The new one basically is a reboot as it tells a new story with a new protagonist.

Fable lost chapters is in my top 5 games of all time. If you can get past the fact that it's an older game and the mechanics are slightly dated then the game has a great story and is incredibly fun!
