Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

Is the autopay easy to cancel - i.e., can do it online?

Log into your account online and select Manage Auto Refill. It should be OFF by default, unless you had signed up for it. My screenshots show my Total Wireless account, but Straight Talk should be similar.

Walmart mobile guy lied to my face and said that their moto g powers were defective and couldn't be activated and straight talk was sending a replacement batch, then proceeded to try to sell me postpaid service. While the devices were still available for sale in their case.

You should have gone to the store manager & complained.
The phone reps in my store are contracted by an outside company & don't make $ on selling prepaids so they also push the postpaid models, but they don't tell obvious lies like that.

Does this have NFC?
Motorola website and many others confirm it is the first moto G phone with NFC and google pay support. Walmart, straightalk and tracfone websites do not mention NFC at all.

Anybody have an opinion on the regular Moto G 5G 2024. I purchased one for Visible because it said my A14 5G was incompatible. Turns out the A14 works perfectly including 5G tethering. I paid $129 for the Moto and I get a $40 gift card back in 3 months. I know it's not slick but is $90 a decent deal on the moto or should I just keep using my Samsung? I have another week to return.

Does it have the bands for all the other carriers? will it work overseas when unlocked? I know someone said 1 year, but is that true that I could wait a year to use the service? Does wifi calling work on it?? thanks

Be patient, you will get your phones. My two phones were delivered yesterday. I activated both, and they will be unlocked after 60 days, as the message says.

So I just bought one from ST site. When I get it and activate, I then have to wait 61 days then it's automatically unlocked or do I need to request a unlock code? Going to use on Visible

The service plan that is bought with the phone is tied to the phone's IMEI and is put into service when the phone is activated. While the phone itself has no "Activate By" date, the service plan COULD have an expiration date, SOMEWHAT similar to a purchased but unused Gift Card. I participate in a sub-forum of Howard Forums that discuss Tracfone and their sub-brands. There were reports from people who bought TF phones bundled with service time + talk/text/data amounts, and were able to activate them with the bundled service up to a year from the purchase date. I don't recall anyone who waited longer. If you want a definite answer, contact Straight Talk Customer Service and ask them.
