Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

I dont need the service. All I need is camera. Will it work if I don't activate services.
Without service, you can still use the phone as a camera, media player, WiFi device, GPS with downloaded maps, and lots of other functions. But if you had to buy a plan with the phone, might as well activate it so it'll get unlocked after 60 days. An unlocked phone can be used with other providers, and brings more money if you decide to sell it.

People buying off brand $10 cases are not good slick dealers.
I've never spent more than $5-6.
This should be added to the wiki.

Cheapest case is $3.49, but more for girls.

figured since i can't really use the phone on tmobile until 60 days later, i ordered my case from temu, cheapest was like 1.25, but i got one that was $2.20 (allows wireless charging). a nice one with kickstand + magnet was 3.50 (but probably won't allow wireless charging)

For WiFi-Calling to work, you must have entered your street address when prompted to set up WiFi-Calling (for 911 purpose). If you never did that, then WiFi-Calling is not set up or not available on your phone. Someone else who has this phone can tell you whether or not WiFi Calling works on their phone.

The wifi setting can be found under settings>network and internet>mobile network>active /default for mobile calls. Must enter address.

Turn on airplane mode and turn on wifi. It does work great.

Also added to wiki.

wifi calling works on both my moto g power 2024's, pulling down from the top all the way and it will say wifi calling if activated.

You can ignore the IMEI Check result if you want, but if the IMEI doesn't pass the IMEI Checker of a provider (AT&T, Visible, Verizon, etc) it will not let you activate a BYOP SIM with your phone's IMEI. I know that people went ahead and swapped in an already-activated SIM of that provider and it works, but you're using that SIM improperly. There are cases when later on the provider shuts down service to that phone (Visible did it to member zapjb, TF/Verizon did it to some members of Howard Forums). Do it at your own risk.
Not always. Check out my comment regarding the Verizon IMEI checker: https://slickdeals.net/f/17553237-straight-talk-new-lines-motorola-moto-g-power-5g-2024-1-mo-silver-unlimited-plan-from-42-50-in-store-only?p=171410991#post171410991

Many of those are for Moto G Play and Moto G. Are they compatible with this phone (Moto G Power)?

Best to do your own research. Check the prime only box and search by price. Very happy with the J&D case. Thin with nice raised cam and screen protection.

My local WM can't (or won't) activate it. And I understand that's a problem in lots of stores in CO (or so they said). Ideas how to get around that?

I got it at Walmart, but they charge 2 tax, 1 for phone ($13.25, 9.25%) and 1 for silver plan ($4.2) total $62.
