Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

I got it at Walmart, but they charge 2 tax, 1 for phone ($13.25, 9.25%) and 1 for silver plan ($4.2) total $62.
Ouch! You're obviously in a high tax state (not WM fault, they don't have any choice). Still a decent deal though, imagine how much taxes would be on an iPhone/Samsung phone.

You could almost get 2 phones.

While I agree with you it seems to be the state policy where you live, it's mentioned earlier in thread.

Looks like your state charges sales tax on the item price before the discount is applied.

I tried switching to an eSIM and the call center agent said this phone is not supported for eSIM in their system, despite the phone itself having eSIM capabilities. FYI

They only activate esim with recent (12 and newer) iPhones, same for all TF brands - your month plan is preloaded on the psim so you'd need to use it anyway.

I had been waiting a long time for TF to support eSIM on Android, so I could use TF service on my S24's eSIM and use the Qlink/T-mo pSIM on the same phone. That never came. But now Qlink/T-mo supports eSIM so a few days ago I put Qlink on my S24's eSIM and keep using my TF pSIM. No more waiting for TF Android eSIM support thankfully.

I don't understand why it's taking so long for them to use esim, was hoping that Verizon would make it possible by now. Maybe some day . . .

Now that ACP ended, is Qlink still free?

Qlink is still free via Lifeline, but with reduced benefits (Unlimited Talk/Text, 4.5GB Data. 2GB Hotspot per month). When ACP was in effect, I think it was Unlimited Talk/Text, 30(?) GB Data). I hardly use Data so don't keep track of how much they give each month.
