Here is the response of Motorola to unlock of Tracfone Moto G Power 5G 2024 (XT2415V) in the Lenovo Forum. Basically, it states that Tracfone is only one that can solve the problem.

"Thank you for reaching out. I have received your IMEI via PM and I was able to check into this further. Tracfone, and many other carriers are now using Remote Unlock on some devices, this allows the carrier to unlock your device without the need for an unlock code. Your device uses this remote unlock method.

Since Tracfone stated the phone would be unlocked after 24 hours I would wait until that time has elapsed then try inserting a SIM (not a Tracfone SIM) in the device to see if it works. If it doesn't you may need to reach back out to Tracfone to see if something needs to be updated in their system to allow the unlock.

Unfortunately, Tracfone is the only one that can help with this concern. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Becky"

Better to just order it online at Straight Talk website then. You can get 2 of them for $75 and also get around $7 back from cash back shopping site.

Do you have any trusted neighbors, friends, family members who can come over to your place and get it after it was delivered?

Not free though to redirect UPS delivery.
I have trusted neighbors next to me. I can add instructions in my free ups account to "leave with next door neighbor" for no charge. I did that last month with my shipment from Total Wireless when we were out of town.

Anyone know if I can activate the sim and swap to a different phone (and swap back every few days to the moto phone and keep the number safe? Or any other method to Use the sim in a different phone ( iphone) wanting to do a port in to actually use the plan but would really like to use it in another phone ? Anyway to get straight talk to transfer to a different IMEI with this preloaded sim?

Straight talk doesn't allow swapping sims between phones. If you want to use the number and plan on a different phone, you have to buy another SIM card (BYOP KIT for $1) for the phone you want to use.

Im trying to get approval for my brother. So you're saying safelink is the way to go?
I would not recommend SafeLink at all, even though they offer more data relatively faster speeds then lifeline competitors. They have a tendency to deactivate your account for no reason. Then you are out of service days/weeks being in contact with them on phone calls with their incompetent agents many times. Very very very frustrating experiences and will give you wrinkles. Check out the many FCC complaints

I moved my sim to my unlocked iPhone SE3 and it works fine. I've done it with Tracfone too without issues.

I don't have Safelink service with Tracfone, but I've been using TF as my main service since 2001. So I agree with you about their poor customer service.

When my daughter first signed up for Lifeline service through Assurance Wireless, they didn't allow you to use your own phone, and the phone they gave her was really crappy. Since I had many better TF-branded phones (locked and unlocked), I contacted TF to switch her Lifeline service from Assurance to Safelink. Although the FCC rules clearly say you can switch from one Lifeline service to another, the Safelink reps I talked to keep saying that my daughter already had Lifeline service with Assurance so she couldn't switch to Safelink. I told them that a person cannot have Lifeline service with more than one provider concurrently, but you're allowed to switch from one to another. But it was like talking to a wall. I finally gave up.

Airtalk is best one they give you free iphone or samsung it lets you pick.

But with Safelink it uses same network as Tracfone so any used locked Tracfone/ST/Total phones Activate with $1 Tracfone BYOP sim

if buy new tracfone branded phone at walmart or tracfone websites they include the sim and still unlock at 60 days on safelink.
So he was approved and they are sending him a sim. I set it up online and they did ask for the IMEI of the phone I plan on using. I chatted today after seeing that they are shipping it. Confirmed that service is tied to the IMEI.

We'll see. The rules are that service must be used every 30 days or it can be disconnected. He can always use text now as a backup

After it is unlocked. Unless maybe another tracfone/ST number.
Unfortunately, currently TF and their sub-brands only support eSIM on iPhone12 and later. So, this phone's eSIM cannot be used with TF and sub-brands.

After the phone is unlocked, can I bring this phone over to Googe Fi then and use the esim? Can I take overseas and use esim also.

Appreciate your response.

I was under the impression that the phone must remain active (with a balance) for 60 days after initial activation to qualify for network unlock. Did Verizon/SL/TF changed their unlock policy?
