Does anyone know how long one can delay activation on straight talk phones like this one? I received this Moto phone, but haven't activated it yet. I guess one line of thought is to activate the phone asap so that the 60 day countdown starts if you need to unlock the phone asap as well.

But I'm not in a rush to get this phone unlocked and I may want to use the service on this phone in a couple months. Are there any issues with doing this or things to watch out for?

It says unlocks after 60 days after activation does not saying anything about whether or not one must pay for a 60 days of service
Go ahead and pay for 60 days of service if it gives you peace of mind.

I read through the thread and did not find the answer. Anyone knows if this phone will work with TMobile after being unlocked?

Thanks.

VZ and TMo networks should be fine -- ATT won't whitelist this model XT2415V

You're all set.
Your device is compatible with the T‑Mobile network and can take advantage of our most powerful signal, Extended Range LTE.

Motorola Cancun5GNA24

This device is fully compatible with T-Mobile's network technology. Tell me more
This device is not blocked from use on our network.
Your phone may not be eSIM-compatible.

What is eSIM compatibility?
We couldn't determine if your phone is eSIM-compatible. Let's try again using your phone's EID number. And don't worry, you can always get a free physical SIM card to connect to T-Mobile.
Enter your phone's EID to check eSIM compatibility.
Success! Continue with eSIM to select a rate plan (new customers) or add a line for this phone (existing customers).

one my phones still can text and receive but no calls or data plan expired 15th. 2nd phone emergency calls only.

I got 12k reward points pending not sure if they will release them since plans expired enough for $100 off phone coupon. it says they expire 60 days after plan expires.

You need to have active service to earn points, if you didn't buy another month it's unlikely rewards will post. Tracfone & Total have same requirement.

"You must remain an active Straight Talk customer to have access to the Program and any Points you accumulate (i.e., active Service plan that is not suspended or deactivated)."

If they follow the same TF policy, default line/account must stay active for over 60 days. My service will expire next week, and they have a 1GB data plan for 500 points, I don't know if I could use the phone for data only will that be valid to keep the account active.
