The promotion did not specify the year needs to be based on one Earth year. A year on Mercury is 88 days.

Just want to highlight the following paragraph in the post for everyone else under 100 years old (13 or older):
"Customers ages 13 and up can get a free Root Beer Float every year on their birthday, plus more exclusive deals on A&W's All-American Food like Burgers and Cheese Curds, by joining Rooty's Mug Club at awrestaurants.com/100 [awrestaurants.com]."

Anyone still alive at that age probably isn't consuming root beer floats. Maybe a root beer float enema...
You pretty much never see very old obese people, but you can consume these and not be obese.

In fact, rootbeer floats were a popular treat back in the day, when obesity was quite rare. Its funny/sad seeing really old pictures of what constituted sideshow freaks who were advertised as "the fattest man/woman alive" and they looked no different from the average Walmart shopper today.

Aside from being thin, the only other trick seems to be plain old genetics. Being female gives you a more robust two X chromosomes which helps and having genes that give you longer telomeres on the ends of those chromosomes seems to be the winning strategy. Many of the most athletic people in the world died relatively young from natural causes, so all the rest is likely nonsense. You're either made to live long or you aren't.

I don't know why I'm laughing when I see the title. Who the heck would feed a 100 year old with that much amount of sugar in one sip?

My grandfather-in-law is 102 and my grandmother-in-law just turned 100 (my wife is going to faaaaaar outlive me). I'll need to see if we've got any locations near us and try and make a trip out of this deal
You'll need to let us know if they are able to get their free floats or if this is another YMMV deal for the old Smilie

I can't tell if you're being purposefully obtuse just for humour, or if you're genuinely devoid of empathy.

Who is identifying as an 100-year-old? Why are you choosing to trivialize the plight of people who actually have needs to address?
Their "needs" have to do with a fetish. I don't have empathy for the sexually deviant.

One of the most memorable experiences I ever had was going into an A&W in a small town in Montana and seeing a family of four generations around table toasting to themselves with rootbeer floats (all in ice cold glass mugs). I was with my boss and I remember him smiling, saying "that's the real America".
