I cannot say how reliable woot is with returns - I've seen a mixed bag of responses.
These were on Dyson's eBay refurbished page up until a few days ago for $419.
I'm a little hesitant.
You also get a few less attachments in this Woot offer vs eBay/Walmart/Dyson refurbished page IF that matters to you.
"Factory Reconditioned – A "factory reconditioned" item was returned, inspected, and restored to fully working condition by the original manufacturer or a certified partner. Each product comes backed by a manufacturer warranty OR our very own Woot! Warranty 1.8k. It's as close to new as you can get without technically being "new" but may show very slight signs of a previous life."

How much better is the performance?
V15 performs a bit better, but it's slightly heavier.
I have V8 as well, and I haven't had any problem with the performance. Since V8 has cheap replacement parts readily available, I'd keep using it until it dies.

Makes me think a warranty *may* be worthless? I'm on the fence.
However, I will probably get a warranty IF I keep this vacuum.
I'll be keeping my eyes open for a sale on NEW Dyson's for the next several weeks (a sale that doesn't require buying 15 vacuums to get the discount).
