Does ebay sales count as direct deposits?
I sell daily and get money deposited weekly.
Tía
Yes, can confirm it counts and works. Just did it today.
I would imagine you can xfer out funds then call to close same day and should be fine to not get any fees.
As others have noted, it is Chase and they play this game all the time in my limited experience (Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me). Imo, all Chase offers should just be ignored as even if you manage to get the bonus, it is not worth the hassle and nonsense imo. You can get 5.3+% in US T-Bills these days. 5+% in many online bank accounts. Why waste your time with offers like this from banks which give near 0% interest on your money?
My 2 cents.
My 2 cents.
$900 return (pre tax) for transferring $15,000 for 60 days is pretty sweet for at most a few hours of work. Just don't keep the money there longer than needed
1. I login to my Chase account, then use this link in OP to apply for the accounts. Easy.
2. Next morning 8am, apparently Chase Fraud department called me. Asked me to call back. I didnt see the missed call and voicemail til 9am.
3. Also at 9am I see an email at 8:08am saying sorry we denied your request for accounts.
4. I called in Chase Fraud, spent 1hr, finally am told after a lot of verification that sorry you need to reapply actually.
5. I reapply.
6. Within a few hours, I get an email saying great we approved your request for new accounts!
7. Next day I go to put the Chase app on my phone (since someone commented you can confirm here the promo was applied correctly).
8. Chase App says Nope sorry, call in for a One Time code.
9. I call Chase, the CS says sorry its actually Fraud department you must talk to. I talk to Fraud department, they say no sorry we can't unlock. You must wait 24-48hrs. Spent an hour on the phone for nothing.
10. 48hr later account still locked. Still waiting. I have other Chase CC accounts, for years, this is kind of silly.
Totally taking my money and running as soon as this promo money hits. What a sht company.

Meaning: If the deal is this difficult in beginning, then imagine the costs/time involved in the end.

Between this and 3 credit card signup bonuses (including resulting mutual referrals) we got over $5k from Chase last year for doing next to nothing.
Thanks (first time doing this deal)
I was passed around and hung up on for over 40 min and eventually managed to find someone who could unlock my online ID. They kept asking for my debit card number despite not being approved for the checking account.
A trip to the chase branch with my passport and DL would have been a lot quicker.

Correct that would count as new money. It needs to go directly to the chase savings account. NOT chase checking then savings.
