Hollywood Universal is one of those parks that don't need more than 1 day (each trip).

any decent affordable hotels? the hotels in that area are very expensive the last I looked. I've been meaning to go to universal in Hollywood for a while now.
We stayed right on Hollywood Blvd at Loews. Incredibly nice setup with a pool on the roof and it has its own outdoor mall. Such a nice place. I'm sure it's pricey but I wasn't feeling like slumming it in LA. Took an Uber to and from Universal, which was a 5 min trip each way. Kimmel(El Capital) is right across the street.

How are you getting a price of $400 for a single person for a single day? Disney Florida, one person, one day, no park hopper is $154 - $184 depending on the day and park in July.
They are just making crap up for attention.

For all the people complaining this isn't a deal for Universal Orlando: they're different parks in different markets. Universal Hollywood is way smaller than Universal Orlando and you can definitely see the entire park in one day assuming you show up first thing. So with this two day pass they're giving out a second day ticket that most people wouldn't be buying otherwise.

Orlando by contrast you can easily make a case for a two day visit, especially if you don't do express pass, since it's bigger and gets more crowded. And that's why they're not doing BOGO, because people will actually pay for a second day in Orlando.

Do these have names on them? Can they be used the same day by two people? Can they be used on different days by different people?
Definitely cannot. When you use it the first time, it links your fingerprint.

These days the tickets to universal and Disney are so expensive. Trying to buy tickets for one day one park at universal or Disney FL next month and one for CA in September, and I'm looking at almost $400 per person. Anyone has any suggestions on how to get discounts?
AAA, I saw Groupon had universal Cali tickets for cheap as well.

I mean there have been multiple people asking if they can scam their way to a free entry in this short thread alone, can you blame them?

USH did got some expansion these past few years and it is better than Disney Land in some perspectives, but still you definitely don't need more than 1 day.

Link for those interested....Also, this looks like an 11 month pass, not 12.

The whole month of July and most weekends are blackout though. Seems more than the 2nd day visit blackout.

In the month of July the most expensive 1 day, 1 person, 1 park pass in Disney I can find is $179.

For Universal a 1 day, 1 person, 1 park pass tops out at $164 in July.

The MOST expensive pass to Universal is an annual pass at $482
Didn't realize the July tickets are so expensive. Wish they just offer discounted ticket instead.
