I checked my amazon history, and I purchased this in August of 2017 for $35. It's still working for me, however the battery life is starting to suck. I plug it in when I use it now, which isn't very convenient, but it gets the job done. It does not use AAA batteries, not sure where that info came from. It has a lithium ion rechargeable battery.

In for another 1. I use it for facial hair and does the job. I have the same exact one I bought 8 years ago and it's finally giving out. Worth every penny.

Yup the the battery also died on me after 6 years but it is nice that it can be used while plugged in. I'm refusing to get a new one yet....

I bought this a month before the pandemic happened here in the U.S. Came in really handy since I stopped out for haircuts.

"$1 in 2017 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $1.28 today, an increase of $0.28 over 7 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 3.60% per year between 2017 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 28.13%."

Fortunately for me, I am not an economist and don't worry about all the brilliant math you know. I am very simple too. I just compare the dollar amounts. I wouldn't mind paying a $5 more above the previous purchase price. Once it goes beyond $10 more, I just won't buy it if I have another alternative. Yes, it is not good economics but that is my own economics. Big Grin

Try this. Apply oil on the sharp cutting edges. Someone suggested it for my 2017 and works again

I've been oiling it after every use. It's the battery.
