Took a minute to look up, but it's just potassium carbonate in some sort of aerosol form. Not really a health concern. Similar to baking soda in terms of risk. You should be able to clean it up with plain water. The stuff that was on fire is probably more hazardous and harder to clean.

I have several of these, but haven't had to use them yet.

The spray direction on them is hard to see to ensure you are aiming it correctly. One tip I saw was to take a red sharpie to the top of the nozzle and draw a big arrow in the right direction.

Sigh
You'd think in California they'd be encouraging us to take any and all measures to prevent fires.

I paid @ $10 for my 2 cans from amazon back in august 2022 and the exp on the case says 03/2027. these are pretty weighty cans so i feel like there's a lot of content in there and it should spray for awhile. however, i don't think these are meant for lithium ion battery fires.

Thank you. Great timing and price. Any kitchen wall mount recommendations? I'm worried I'll order a mount that's too big.

They work great. I've used it on a grill fire and it put it out right away.

Two notes. These work great for situations where a full sized fire extinguisher is too big, bulky, or messy, but you still want to be safe. Think grilling, burning weeds, fireworks, etc.

These work pretty well, but they are really only for small fires. They spray longer, but much lower volume than a traditional fire extinguisher, but are easier to clean up/less messy.

However, they don't replace a traditional ABC fire extinguisher in terms of either compliance or capability.
